How do I copy music to my Xperaia M2?

copying music on xperaia m2

I have ripped music onto laptop (media player)but when connect USB Lead (sony)and try and transfer to mobile it say 1 uknown artist or 2 cannot play.
I have reset my phone.
I have tried copying via card reader
I have tries in mass storage
I have even reformatted sd card
if after format old old music on latop copys fine but music put on to media player will only copy with fauts as above
If I am not in mass storage it will show in media player, but the same problems
I am totally lost in fact I am thinking of just forgetting it or getting new genuine sd card 32gb
please help

Welcome to Android Central! So are all of the music files on a microSD card? If so, then definitely try a different card, since your current one could be corrupt.

Also, what format are the music files? MP3? AAC? FLAC?
