How do I stop autocomplete from suggesting old email addresses when I want to type regular words?

whenever I'm typing using the android keypad, (emails, texts, in apps), autocomplete suggests old emails, sometimes emails I haven't seen in many years. How do I stop this, it is very annoying.

Good question - I would love an answer, too. It is crazy how these long and totally useless email addresses pop up in autocomplete.
