Can you be specific about how to uninstall?

In application manager tap on Google app and clear the cache then uninstall updates. You should also disable the app and use chrome instead this will stop it from updating again the next day and the same thing happening.
You can't actually delete the Google app.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Thanks. I tried most online recommended steps to correct to no avail. Uninstalling the latest Google App updates worked and I can readily use Home Button to close all apps.

O my god thank you so much i've been having that issue with my phone for a while. unfortunately that i already factory reset it without saving all of my data so that sucks

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

I contacted Samsung and they are not even aware of any issues. I actually sent them this page link with everyone's issues posted here.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Samsung Technical Support. We always appreciate hearing from our customers.

The link provided in the email has information about the error message “System UI” stopped working, but the subject in the email is mentioned as "home button" has stopped working after update. Assuming that the error message System UI is displayed on the phone, I will provide you with possible troubleshooting information.

We appreciate your efforts and patience in researching online about the issue. We haven’t received any reported issues with the phone or any software updates.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

I found out what caused it. Earlier today google pushed an update for their google quick search app ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...e.android.googlequicksearchbox&token=rNx-si3o ), this update broke my home button.

So uninstall the app and you should be fine for now.

Thank you for investigating the issue and finding this fix. As with others, my issues also started on January 20, 2017. This was such an irratating issue. Over the weekend I looked at countless youtube videos regarding this issye and most recommended removing cache partition and or performing factory reset and rebooting. I did not factory reset because frankly I didn't want to lose my data since my last backup.

I just decided to check this site (witjout a doubt I should have checked here first) and per Gamekingx5651151's advice, removed the app, and it fixed the problem. Thanks again Gamekingx565115!!!

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

I had the same problem on my Samsung S4 mini.

One note though, if you tilt your phone to its side and press the home button the error does not appear. it only appears when you have the phone in the up position.

After uninstalling the google app updates, it worked in any position I had my phone.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

uninstall google to factory settings & it really works ^^
10x a lot 4 help <3
dont forget to disable google apps !!

To fix your home button; at present you must uninstall "google quick search box"
This make the google search box app unusable and you have to either make the app disabled or keep uninstalling it eah time it up dates.

I'm new to Android. What are the steps to do the above fix?
Thanks!!!

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Hi Guys, I was having this same problem ALL weekend. My husband googled it and found that the latest Google update was the problem. He uninstalled the update and my phone was fine. But just a quick FYI the Google pushed the update on me yet again today so I had to again uninstall the google update! Such a pain! It is working fine again but wondering if there is a way I can make it so the google wont auto update on me.

Thanks!

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Absolutely brilliant thanks. I followed all the normal advice about clearing the cache and downloading the firmware from Kies (which solved the problem until my apps updated) hence narrowing the fault to an app update...but which one? I uninstalled the updates from Google Search and all is working well. I hope Google can fix their bug quickly.

1st of all.. I know nothing of these darned contraptions... How do you uninstall the update (and 1-where is it located and 2-what is it called) I have the tab 3 (not a phone) then how do you disable it? I even factory reset my device. I'm ready to throw this damned thing away.
