How do I stop my voice text from repeating everything twice?

Every time I voice text, my phone repeats the sentence or paragraph twice. Anyway to avoid this annoyance?

only having problem WITH the message app. tried both message and message plus. samsung issue

if i use the separate google voice to go on web i don't get the problem, so that's why i'm still suspicious of Samsung. are other phones getting this? I was told Motorola did not have the problem

so software update that is common to google Pixel and Samsung products?

I was hoping Kevin Potts was right but unfortunately it did not solve my problem. I have an LG and I see there are many of us that are having this problem. I am not having my voice texts repeating twice, three or four times for me. Does anyone know if google monitors this site and maybe will have a fix for us?

When you are out and about it will not happen it only occurs when Wi-Fi is enabled

Does not work. Tried everything. It's platform, phone model, provider independent. Its a google/android issue! Have had it since monday. Why don't they do something or post something!?!?? What crap!

They are aware of the problem until the fix it use message+ you have the ability to send audio recordings instead of text it is a temporary fix but it works u might not go back to stt

it's an issue with the audio self correcting algorithm it doesnt pick the best match it prints all the possibilities that why they are al lslight ly different

All the phones are slightly different it seems to work on droids and not on other phones

They know their is a problem with the recent update try sending audio files with message+ instead of texts u might not go back no typing or art it's like a voicemail for messages

I seemed to have fixed this issue for now. I'll have to check and see if it continues to work correctly. My resolution as it stands was to turn off Enhanced LTE on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The messaging app uses Enhanced LTE to send all of its data such as send and received receipts, and the text messages themselves. When turned off they will go out as regular text messages. Some may also have a better battery life experience. With Enhanced LTE turned on your phone will always connect to a capable tower even if there is an AT&T tower closer that is not Enhanced LTE capable. Degraded signal = more battery power to make up for it.

mine was doing it when I WAS out and off WiFi. just got my google pixel ystrdy. it doesn't happen when I use voice to search online or use the Google assistant but it does it when I'm texting (using Textra)

Depending on the phone the underlying programming may work somewhat different. In a way by turning off wifi you were stopping the Messaging app from using the Internet for messaging. Possibly?

I have the galaxy S5 and had the same problem with the repeating text in messages, it is the automatic OK Google stuff causing the problem. Go into Google hit settings located in the upper left-hand corner( the slash marks hard to see) Slect settings, Then select voice, select OK Google detection I turned off the OK Google from the app and from any screen and now I don't have a problem hope this works for everyone.

The issue has already came back on my phone with wifi off and enhanced lte off. My resolution is not a resolution. Sorry all.
I'm wondering if Google may be getting to release Assistant to all these phone's. I always seem to start having problems with things right before a major update of some sort.

It is a glitch if you want to fix it turn off your Wi-Fi it will not happen when you are not connected with Wi-Fi this works on all droids it is due to the current update

None of these "fixes" work. It is a server problem with google. I confirmed this earlier because my S7E is upgraded to Nougat on VZ with Google Now set up, and my fiancee' s HTC M10 on VZ is on marshmallow with no Google Now capability. Both phones have the issue.

My issue cropped up with no Wi-Fi on, and I tried disabling the "ok google" feature. VZ doesn't support enhanced LTE to my knowledge so that's moot.

Also you need to speak a sentence with at least 10 words to trigger it, so if your using less than 10 words it will appear to be fixed.

Took my Sprint Samsung Note 4 in to Sprint Repair Store for roaming last night and calls going to voicemail... Now I got voice txt repeating 5x. WHAT is the fix? Tried Wi-Fi off, Google now App off, Messing App to Hangouts and back: No help!

I have an LG3 and my speech to text has gone bananas. It repeats what I say 3 or 4 times. PLEASE HELP ME! I didn't notice any updates that may have affected my phone.
