AC Question

Every time I voice text, my phone repeats the sentence or paragraph twice. Anyway to avoid this annoyance?

I was told earlier today it is a I was told earlier today it is a virus of some kind virus of some kind. It has been doing it off and on for several weeks now. There really several other elements of distraction wasting my time. I am pretty furious too considering it takes me numerous attempts to write a simple sentence. There are also misspellings there are also miss spellings there are also missed Spelling's and much much more.

Such a waste! What really bothers me is there is no where to call to get help for this we have to waste our timeWhat really bothers me is there is nowhere to call to get help for this we have to waste our time what really bothers me is there is know where to call to get help for this we have to waste our time

What a f% <&]#@ pain in the ***!!!!

I have a Moto G 2nd Generation and I had this problem a week ago, starting on Tuesday afternoon; now it began again starting on Tuesday night. At that time, I was registered on this forum and was advised to uninstall the latest Google update. That worked; however, when I tried it again last night, it did NOT work this time. (By the way, I registered on this forum on my phone last week; today, on my PC, my registration was not recognized and I had to re-register.) Here is everything I tried that has NOT worked: I cleared the cache on all apps. I uninstalled the latest updates of ALL apps. I removed unused apps. I did a reboot of my phone. I made certain that English (US) was set as my language. I ran a check of my microphone hardware. I turned off Google Now. Nothing has worked. Every sentence I speak into the phone repeats multiple times. Since I have a limited texting plan, THIS IS COSTING ME MONEY if I go over my texts due to the bug. Since I'm now sure this is not a problem with my phone, due to all the above posts, I think I have one simple solution: I'm going to ditch Android, since they can't seem to get their collective $#%* together, and get an iPhone. YES, I AM FURIOUS.

I also tried the fixes, uninstalled the GBoard update, tried the force stop, etc etc.. Rebooted. I have a Moto X 2nd gen, but it looks like many phones are having this issue, so I doubt it matters much.

Disabling Wifi works for me. Also Talk Type Text keyboard fixes the problem, but it's a crappy keyboard. I love Swiftkey keyboard, but it has the duplication problem. Weird that this problem just started a few days ago for no reason.

I'm getting it as well on my Moto G 3rd Gen. It does it on places like Yahoo comments or Facebook, but doesn't do it for Gmail.

I've done that and it does not work

I have moto g4+

Started doing it today it sucks
I set my Google keyboard back, uninstalled the updates

I'm using the TouchPal voice but it's not as good
Disabled Google Voice and an able to use voice with touch pal

But WTF need solution to this

that's funny that's when mine stopped working right to when I deleted the weird Indian Korean languages

Go to Settings, Applications, Default Applications, messaging app, scroll down change to hangouts, change back to messages Close all out & try to use your voice to message someone. . This should stop the problem.

What apps did you roll back? All the google ones?

If you have done any recent updates, I would roll them back. I can't say the roll backs fixed the issue on my pixel XL. But these are the steps I followed:
1 I rolled back a few apps I recently updated
2 Tested - tried voice to text and problem persisted
3 Rebooted phone
4 Tested again, still broke
5 I retrained my voice to the phone. After the retrain phone was back to normal
6 I updated the apps I rolled back and the voice to text is still working without issue

YMMV

I've opened a bug with the Android team here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=240237

There was a previous similar bug that they acknowledged in 2015 on which staff commented on, but the workaround for that doesn't work this time around. Watch that issue for updates. The more people "star" that issue, the most eyes at Google with be on it.

I've gone to your link, how do you "star" the issue over there?

BTW, I'm new here too, as like everyone else, this just started happening to me recently, started happening yesterday (Mar 7th). My phone is a ZTE Grand X4 running Android 6.0.1.

This is all done on voice to text when your Google Voice to Text pops up hit settings and then unselect English as the language and then reselect English is the language.

*not voice to text*
This fixed an s7 edge (7.0 nougat) that is all current updates. Was having the multiple version repeating issue everyone else was having. I already had hangouts disabled as i didnt use it.

Hey, it seems to have been fixed today! I didn't do anything, but it worked normally again! I looked in Google Play to see what was updated, it showed a few irrelevant ones like Facebook & Instagram, and the only Google app that was updated was Google Play Music. I doubt that that was responsible. So who knows, as people said, this may have entirely been as a result of Google screwing up something on their own server end?

Anyways, I'm not going to take a chance on this again, I've disabled auto-updates, now that things seem to be working properly.
