AC Question

Every time I voice text, my phone repeats the sentence or paragraph twice. Anyway to avoid this annoyance?

I am SOOOO frustrated as it is happening to me constantly and seems to be getting worse. Also writes out "period" instead of putting one in. That airplane mode idea is terrible. Do you really expect us to go in and out of Airplane mode (and off of Wifi if it's using it) every time we want to use STT?

I think this is a bug in an android system update. My wife and I have Nexus 5x phones. She doesn't have the problem and I do. She has an outstanding android system update that she didn't apply. I applied mine a couple days ago when I think this started. I just applied a new update and that didn't fix mine.

The only thing that has worked has been turning on airplane mode.

Nope. Confirmed on marshmallow.

I appear to have come up with a fix but I'm not exactly sure if I kept track of what I was doing because I was trying so many different things. But it appears that I uninstalled GBoard, the Google keyboard module. I went into Apps and did a force stop on GBoard. Then I disabled the app. It asked if I wanted to revert back to the factory program and I said yes. It appeared to uninstall the Gboard app. At this point I rebooted. When it was done I went to Play Store and reinstalled GBoard. My keyboard looks completely different now but my voice to text is working. In fact I dictated all of this and it does not seem to of had any problems at all.

This worked for me. Just disabled, force stop, enabled again, no reboot. Thanks!

Makes sense since today I had a bunch of foreign language keyboard updates pending. I hit "I delete" on them but have no idea if that even got,rid of them. Anyways, might be a connection there.

This worked for me. Just disabled, force stop, enabled again, no reboot. Thanks!

That did not fix it for me. I even re-updated Gboard and still not fixed.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

This is new to me too as of 2 days ago. 3/7/2017 and i have a moto g4 running android 6.0.1 no updates missing and i can't make it stop repeating text. What I THINK I DO see it doing (that others have not mentioned)is that the sentences DIFFER SLIGHTLY from one another. Example: I'm sending this to doctor poler tomorrow and I get:

I'm sending this to doctor poler tomorrow
I'm sending this to doctor paylor tomorrow
I'm sending this to doctor palor tomorrow
I'm sending this to doctor pailor tomorrow
I'm sending this to doctor pailer tomorrow

Anyone got any ideas on what to uninstall or do to stop this nuisance? Its rendered voicetext useless.

I tried most of the fixes suggested with no result. Then I installed TalkType Voice Keyboard from Google Play. It works without any word duplication or repetition at all. Running 7.1.1 on Pixel.

Wow, judging by how many posts in this thread so far, it seems like a fairly widespread problem on Samsung phones. As has already been mentioned, the best thing to do is to uninstall updates to the Google app (just search for it on the Play Store and tap Uninstall, which will only uninstall updates), then wait until the next time it's updated. The only official way to know when it's been updated for your phone is to look at the Play Store app page for the Google app, and look at the date it was last updated. Or you could keep an eye on a thread like this, since someone will most likely announce that it's been updated and the bug fixed.

I would also strongly encourage all of you to open the Google app, tap Menu>Send Feedback, and inform Google about this problem. If a lot of people do it, they'll realize quickly what they did wrong and patch it.

I never saw an answer to the original problem of the Voice to Text repeating the messages can you please help

So my Samsung S7 started repeating sentences and adding every variation of the word. For example test tests cast [language redacted by Mod]....has anyone solved this yet on the S7?

Also, tried uninstalling Google and reupping and all it did was make me have to set everything back up on the desktop as it wiped my widgets and layout of icons i liked. Don't do it. Its not worth the headache and does NOT fix the problem.
