how do i stop photos from automatically saving to my galaxy max

It saves app pictures, messenger pictures, online pictures. And its taking up my phone space. Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Those are likely cached images and thumbnails. There isn't much you can do about thumbnails--apps create them so that they can display images to you easily as thumbnails (otherwise, you'd just see lots of blank grey squares in the Gallery app or other apps). If you go to the /DCIM/Camera/.thumbnails directory and delete them all, they will eventually reaccumulate.

Cached images should be removable by clearing out the app cache in the App Manager.
