Hi Guys, My brother has a OG Droid, actually this is his 3rd one, because he keeps breaking his power button. They wont give him a 4th because it's way past his warranty. Now it's acting up and I wanted to do a factory reset on or or maybe root it, but how will I do this without being able to use the power button? I own a rooted DINC, so I can follow steps pretty good. I'll be searching the forums, but wanted to post first and see if that got me help faster. Thanks in advance!

If you mean a standard factory reset, you can do that from the phone's settings with no need for a power button.

If you mean using and flashing a .sbf file, you'll have to wait for someone a bit more familiar with the Droid to chime in. So here's a bump back to the top :)

You can try the ADB shell.......

Install the MOTO drivers on your PC

Download the ADB files

Get your phone connected to the PC with debug mode

Use the command in CMD which is "adb reboot recovery"
