How do you hold your tablet?

Just curious as to how do folks tend to hold/use their tablets, and which do you have?

I have a Tab s8 ultra, (considering adding a regular s8 for easier use and portability), and I use it in portrait mode. I've tried using tablets, including this one of course, in landscape mode, but it just doesn't feel right in my hand.

Videos sure, but other than that I prefer reading more vertically than horizontally. Even in YouTube I keep it in portrait until I actually play a video.

So... what say ye?

Interesting subject. When I had my BlackBerry Playbook (it had its name label situated in lanscape, and it's launcher kind of optimized for landscape), I almost exclusively held the Playbook landscape.

With my Samsung Galaxy Tablets (two different ones now since Playbook, which both have/had their name labels and launchers kind of optimized for portrait), I almost exclusively hold them portrait.

My Tab s8 Ultra is such a bohemoth. I have the keyboard case/stand that I use while sitting at my desk. Otherwise, I have the Samsung rugged case for it & use it while I'm in a reclining position & it rests on my thighs. (In either landscape or portrait) It's too big to hold.

My Tab s6 is light & portable. I have the keyboard case for it also. But mostly, I keep it in a rubbery, gripping case & hold it in both directions depending on if I'm working on it or just playing. I love that device.

:)

EXACTLY why I'm considering a Tab S8 as well now.

I have a Fold 4, but I'd like something a bit bigger, that's easily held.

I too have the Samsung keyboard case, and my Ultra sits on the end table next to me to either stream my Xbox or PC games if I'm also watching TV, or when watching TV/videos early in the morning when my wife is still sleeping, (I can use my Buds 2 Pro).

However, holding it has gotten annoying.

I have an old Pixel C (10.2") and a Galaxy Tab A7 lite (8.7"). When I read with the Tab A7 lite, I hold it portrait, since it fits comfortably in my hand that way. But if I read on the Pixel C, I hold it landscape, and when I'm using the Kindle app, I set the text to show in two columns.

I hold my 10" Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in portrait mode to read, just like how I hold a book. I only use landscape mode to watch videos.

I use an iPad Air (M1) and use it in a magic keyboard for work and a cheaper ordinary case for reading and consuming videos. I use it in portrait mode for Instagram and twitter apps. Landscape for everything else.

I most of the time use my tablets in portrait mode, like a writing tablet or magazine. Will switch to landscape for movies or when a website forces me.
