How happy are former storm owners?

This phone kills the Storm any day of the week. It runs so smoothly, and doesn't complain when you try to multitask. My storm had a better camera and GSM, but otherwise the Droid wins.

I had the Storm & I'll never look back myself. I contemplated the Storm2, but after dealing w/what amounted to beta OS's for almost a year, I felt no brand loyalty. The next to last update made the phone operate like it was supposed to (about a week or so before the Droid's release), but it was too little to late for me. I'm very happy w/my Droid.

Hey guys thanks for all the info. After reading all the positive posts and what happend to me this weekend while out deer hunting I've decided to jump to the "dark side" as soon as I can upgrade.....and this is what happend to me this weekend.

I was out in the deer woods hunting and pulled my storm out to check the time and my screen was froze! I didn't have a two-way radio to have contact with everyone else in cas of an emergency. So there I am fumbling around trying to get my case-mate cover and battery door off to do a battery pull. I finally get it pulled and the door and case back on. A few mins later (well atleast 5 since it takes that long for a reboot) I pull my storm out to re-check the time and its froze again! So I have to fumble with everything a 2nd time!

Sorry RIM, but I'm tired of random reboots and daily battery pulls just to wait another 5 minutes to be able to do something so I'm going to do some thing.............leave my berry and get a droid!

If you run out of ammo. You can throw your Droid at a deer. This thing is built like a tank. It will atleast knock the deer out. Then you can pick it up and use it without having to batt pull.

Oh man, the puns that spring to mind.

Droid...iPhone killer or deer killer? You be the judge.

Droid does...does.

Droid does Bambi. (Sounds like porn)

I kid you not, my last Storm rebooted 3 times BACK TO BACK and then WIPED ITSELF! All my data and contacts, apps and everything gone! And guess what VZW said, it was my fault because I HAD to have had an app downloaded that caused it!!!!!!

Nevermind the danm phone was built to run apps! It was my fault because they assumed I allowed apps to run in the background that caused the phone to reboot......THANK GOD FOR ANDROID....and while I never thought I'd say it...THANK GOD FOR MOTOROLA lol!!!

Hello all.

Well after dealing with countless issues of reboots, overheating, memory leaks, and screen freezes, I'm making a switch to the Droid. I never thought that I'd be going after anything Motorola again... but here I go.

Despite the fast response of the Android 2.0 OS, you just can't beat the fantastic app support that you get, as compared to what BB App World has to offer.

I do believe the only things that I'll truly miss from my S1 is BBM and Pushed email. But I'm sure Android will find a way around this.

But I've got to admit... the main thing that caught my attention about the Droid and sold me, was it's Nav capabilities. And to top it off, it's free (virtually saving me an extra $10.00 a month).

Looking forward to getting my Droid & goodies tomorrow!:)

it's not literally saving you $10? you were paying with virtual money of some kind? ;)

BBM and BIS are the only things really going for the blackberry platform in the consumer space right now, and probably nothing else for at least another 8 to 12 months from now.

I currently have the Storm and until recently it was fine. However, ever since the 5.0 update it's been acting......funny to say the least. Random reboots, memory leaks (ie worse than before), freezing, etc.

I'm waiting until this Saturday to pick up my new Droid and I can't wait! I'll post back once I get a chance to play around with it more.

So true. ;)

I estimate that by this time next year, the S3 should be out. And hopefully it'll give everyone a run for it's money. If not.... it'll this will be yet another fail for RIM, and yet another game of catch up.

But either way... my Droid should be here no later than Thursday.
Can't wait!!!;)

Yes it is . But patience is a virtue right? I'm probably going to keep my Storm 1 around just in case I go oversees for work again. Is it hard for me to switch service over to my Storm if I need to for a short amount of time?

There truly is no comparison. I suffered with a Storm 1 from the time it came out. I kept defending it saying, oh when OS 5 is released it will be so much better and be the device it should have been when it was actually released. I updated to OS 5 and while it helped, it still was not the device it should have been (at least in my mind). Got the Droid and sent my Storm off to Gazelle.com the next day. I cannot believe how amazing this phone is. I feel like I won the lottery. I will never go back to a BB. It feels to me like RIM used Storm 1 users as beta testers! I only blame myself tho as I was the one who chose to go with the Storm. However the Storm 1 seriously illustrates why I only renew my contract for 1 year and not 2.

I cant wait to get my droid today. i dont imagine going back to the storm 2. I am a business person so hopefully the fix with my yahoo email accounts wont be a hassle to setup. Only problems i would have is questions about the function of the phone.

I havd a Storm 1 and replaced it with a Tour. I tested Storm 2 and it was better but not amazing. I tested the Driod and WOW this phone is amazing. I feel like I am getting shortchanged on my BB. The Tour is a good phone but it is not a Droid.
