How long does your Nexus 5x battery last

I have a brand new Nexus 5X that was purchased a few days ago. As soon as I got it yesterday I noticed the battery life was below average for me. My cheap Lenovo phone (2000mAh) lasts a lot longer and I can't help but compare it to the N5X.
The battery drains on average by 1-2% every 3-4 minutes (sometimes 1-2 minutes), when browsing through Chrome or Tumblr. I ran 20 minutes of Youtube on full brightness and it went down 8%. Standby mode is fairly good: 1% drop in 6 hours.
Is this normal or should I be concerned?

What's your screen brightness? And have you updated recently? I'd reboot a couple of times, give it a good charge, make sure your screen brightness is set!

My brightness is either set to auto with the slider all the way down to the minimum, or on the lowest possible during the night. The phone updated twice once I got it connected on July 5th so it should be up to date. I'll continue to give it a good charge or two and decide from there on. Thanks for the reply

Normally 3-5 days. I turn it off at night when I got to bed and turn in on in the morning. I play no games--I have no games on my phone--watch no movies or videos, listen to no streaming music and don't surf the web using my phone unless I'm at a WiFi access point. I have cellular data turned off and turn in on maybe once every two weeks to go online briefly. I do occasionally read using the Kindle app when I'm stranded without my Kindle. That's maybe an hour a week max. I'm mostly deaf so I only do phone calls when I'm inside in a quiet environment. Oh, and no "social media". I'm not quite sure what it is but after signing up for Facebook to look for an old friend and then trying to get off of Facebook, I'll never sign up for one of those things again. It's easier for a state to secede from the union than it is to get away from Facebook.

In the past, I've had certain apps cause me problems but not lately.

Your usage is definitely not typical and probably as light as it gets. Surprised you are posting and browsing forums as often as you do (and I mean that in a non offensive way) with how little you use the device

Today I barely made it 5 hours with web browsing, game playing and watching a 1 hour movie. Always been my gripe with Android. These phones hemorrhage battery when you use them.

From what I've seen while using the phone, playing gameboy advance games sucks 10% in roughly 35 minutes with periodical breaks. I can't say I'm impressed, however It's nothing too bad. It kind of reminds me of my old second hand Samsung S3 mini I had a while ago.
Why manufacturers insist on making thinner phones when it impacts the battery life is beyond me.

I certainly take no offense. I use my phone exactly as much as I need to. But, I read posts about poor battery life and frequently, usually, there are no comments about how much time is spent with games and movies which require the screen to be on and eat battery. I probably spend that time eating the batteries on my Kindles.

I do have a power pack that I carry with me that I use to recharge my Kindles, or my phone, if need be. I don't use the rapid charger that came with my Nexus 5x but I suppose I would if I were draining the power every 8 hours.

You can always tweak things. When I recently tried the 5x, I got about a day of battery life. The battery life upset me until I made some small changes. Turn off what you don't use regularly, and set location to battery saving. High accuracy = high battery drain. Some apps are battery leechers, like Facebook. Additionally, having Wifi off when the phone is sleeping, that helps too, especially if you are in an area with bad WiFi.

As I see with everyone's posts it really is based on how you use your phone. Currently I have my 5X set to do the basics. I talk, text, email, and surf a little bit. So based on my needs I can go over a day without needing a charge. One thing I did not do on this phone was hook up my work email, that uses exchange. Since I got the phone last week, I am still trying to figure out the best set up. I know that later I will add music so that will take down my battery life. Overall I have been happy.

I usually make it about 12 hours (time I wake up to the time I get home from work) with about 40% left. My daily use is Facebook, Twitter, texting, web browsing, YouTube and some gaming. I usually have to charge up a bit to make it through the night. I certainly wish the battery was a little bigger. I'd love to make it the whole day without needing a charge but the 5X is still an improvement from my Nexus 5.

Been using for a couple weeks now. Getting 6 hours of use with 2 hours screen on time with 10% battery left. I need to charge fully overnight and charge fully again during the day to almost make it until bed.
