How long were you able to use your Honor phone(s) for?

I was wondering how much utility people were able to get out of the Honor series phones (9, 8 Pro, 8, 7, 6X, 5C, 5X, 4X, Magic) they once owned. In other words, how long you were able or wanted to use the phone for, until it broke or you decided to move to something else for any reason. My Honor 8 served me well for around 6 months, but unfortunately it is not in working order anymore.

I have had mine for ten months and it is still working.

@dpham00: I assume it is Honor 8 you are talking about. Is that your primary phone? Have you owned any other Honor phone?

almost 10 months, no issue. still runs pretty much like it did when new

I've had my phone for close to ten months and it is still working very well. I can't part with it yet! Plus, I haven't found anything that is really convincing me to upgrade. I'll keep it and use it until it breaks. :)

I have had my honor 8 for a year and it works perfectly still.
I get the feeling you just come on here to slag off huewai because of one bad experience.

Had the 5X first as a second phone. It was innovative yet not the best. Quit using it after about 4 months. Then on to the honor 8 last year around end of the Summer. It was my primary for about 4 months. Nice phone yet was a bit prone to odd bugs here and there. Sent it in for warranty repair once it was returned with the same problem still evident. I quit using it after that.
Recently received the honor 6X which has an odd OS version on it that doesn't seem to want to update. I gave the 6X to my wife so updates aren't an issue for her.

Not really. I am truly interested in understanding market trends. With the conventional wisdom telling that Americans tend to upgrade their smartphones every 2 years, it would be interesting to see how Honor stack up against that assumption.

@wcavaliere88, @Morty2264: Are you guys new customers of the company like I am? Or have you used any other Honor phone prior to Honor 8 you are currently using?

I am a new customer to Honor but have had my eye on Huawei off and on for a while. I really like my device, but I normally skip over to another manufacturer for ensuing upgrades (so far I've done Nexus/Google, LG, and Honor/Huawei) so I can get a well-rounded experience. I think Honor/Huawei are great brands and push out great devices; but like with all things, no device is ever perfect. Something can always be improved in the next iteration - even on flagship phones like Samsung and Apple!

Asking on the forums is not going to give you an accurate portrayal of the general USA population though. People in the forums tend to upgrade much quicker than the average consumer, imo.

Agree, nothing to be implied about the population here. But still an interesting piece of information, in my view. Do you know or would you be able to suggest how to find out what Android Central's user base is and what fraction is contributing to the Honor forum?

I was brand new to Huawei/Honor...it was a toss up between the 8 or One plus.... decided to save a little money and not disappointed. I think I will try to stick with Huawei going forward, maybe the mate next.

The Mate looks like a good device like, for sure! :) I like the looks of the 8 Pro and 9 but I have my eye on OnePlus so far!

Roughly 6-8 months till the G6 came out. But now im using the 5x since I'm traveling. I would go back to my Honor 8 here and there. I love that phone

@Aljean Thein: I guess you used the 5X for over a year now. I wonder if it is still fully functional and what it is like performance-wise.

Actually I just bought it couple weeks ago as my vacation phone. Phone works fine, but it does lag and it's a bit slow on opening apps. I put Nova in there since it's more fluid than emui. Everything works the way it should, you'll just gotta wait a extra 1-2 seconds to open things.

New to Honor/Huawei and this is my 2nd Android phone. I've had mine since late November 2016. I'm still loving my phone and happy with my choice to move to Android 3 years ago. I'm glad I picked this over similar phones I was looking at in the same price range.

Glad you are liking your Honor 8! What colour did you get? Mine is white!

I got sapphire blue. White was my second choice and the color of the face for my Moto X.
