Cancelled my 128gb panda. Hopefully google fixes these issues then maybe ill give it a second chance. If not then I'll be sticking with my htc u11 which I feel is still the best android phone at the moment.

Nope, my 2xl 128gb ships tomorrow, I'll judge for myself and not let anyone else tell me what I like or don't like. I also don't burn, attack with an open razor blade nor bend my phone...ever.

Cancel my order? Nope. My order screen says it will ship tomorrow, Monday, Oct 23. Yesterday I stopped in a Verizon store and looked at the Pixel 2 XL. The screen is no problem for me as I only look at it straight-on. I took many pictures and compared them with the subjects and they were sharp with dead-on colors. This camera was apparently made using advanced witchcraft.

Didn't cancel my order. I actually prefer the more color accurate screen so that was a non issue. I use an iPhone and an S8 and I had to turn off all the display tweaks on the S8 just to save my eyes. The blue tint is unfortunate, but was never a deal breaker.

As for the screen burn in, well, I've had this issue on a Moto X and Galaxy S6 and S7. In each case in promptly got a replacement from the manufacturer. So if it does become a noticeable issue..then that's that.

2 people claiming they are seeing burn in issues on review units, is not enough for me to cancel my order.

Besides 4x the resolution, 1 inch screen larger screen diagonally, and you get +1 hour battery life over the original pixel 2.

Those durability situations are very situational and won't happen to most people IRL. Buy a case that helps prevent/reduce damages for scratches and drops and you're fine. lol

I ended up cancelling mine and ordered a Pixel 2. Main thing I'm looking for is a quick updates and good camera, the 5" ticks both those boxes and it's $200 cheaper.

The other reason is I couldn't even get an estimated ship date on my XL order from Best Buy, 5" ships next week. I need a new phone ASAP, I'm using my wife's old Honor 8 with a cracked screen until I get a new phone.

I didn't see a problem with the XL display like other people just would rather spend the extra money on something else.

Nope. Panda 128 GB XL will ship on Monday .. then I will have it by Thursday or so :D.

How come my panda 64gb only ships Nov 22 and I will only receive it at the end of Nov???? I pre-order it at 1pm EST right after the Google event. Sigh..... Lots of people have already received their phone or expecting it soon. :/

But how come some people are getting it this week and some have already received it last week? Mine is schedule to arrive nov-26-28th that's more than a month the away. Sigh. Hopefully at least I get a batch of oh bed with the screen issues fixed. ::::crossing fingers:::: then it will 💯% be worth the weight.

They ordered before us

Oh... I wouldn't worry too much. It seems more and more likely that there is a consistency issue with the panels. Some got good ones, some not so good. The ones that got bad ones will get taken care of and they'll end up fine. I am still planning on getting one for my wife for Christmas and I am not at all worried. My guess is that you'll see some ship dates move out a little bit as they adjust their QC criteria and that pushes the burn rate higher on the panels (which reduces yield of course).

Things will get sorted out.

One thing that's consistent, is people's faith in Google to correct issues, that's reassuring

Well, that's my angle. Google is still a services company, and their bottom line doesn't rest on them selling a massive pile of Pixels. They have a decent history of taking care of owners as best they can and not abandoning them as soon as they get their money. So it'll be good for a bunch of snide comments and jokes, but in the long run everyone will have a good unit in their hands and we'll move on.

Panda seems to be super in-demand.

I just canceled. Honestly, it's like every day a new issue pops up. I'm not paying a thousand bucks for a phone with so many issues when my phone is perfectly good. It even charges slowly from a video I saw on YouTube. I'll hold on to my S8+. I had ordered a 128gb Panda so maybe me canceling will help someone else get theirs sooner. Maybe I'll get one when Best Buy has their Black Friday sale. Last year they were going for the low.
