How many have canceled pre-orders for the Pixel 2 XL?

Have you canceled your Pixel 2 XL pre-order?

I have a white 2xl scheduled to ship by Verizon on 11/1. As a backup I ordered a white Pixel 2 with Google that had a ship date of 11/12. I just got an email right now that says my phone shipped and I'll receive it by 10/30. So I'll have both to decide upon which to keep as far as size. I currently have the S8+.

I don't. I'm not watching 4K movies on my phone. Just looking at apps, photos, and the internet. Nobody uses oversaturated mode on their tv screens. The irony is Samsung makes this the norm and it looks like crap on a phone or tv.
How can you be against choice? Then everyone can pick what they want to look at.

Been on the fence but decided to cancel mine today.

Have been unsure about the design for a while, the bezels are imo look odd, and I actually prefer the look of the smaller pixel in that regard. As a result this phone is bigger than the 6.2" S8+ wider than the N8 and noticeable larger than the V30 which has the same screen size. I was probably ok with that though for the software experience.

The decider for me was the screen issues. I'm sure they are not as bad as some say but I doubt they can fully solved via software and for a £900 phone that is just not good enough.

My non-xl P is going back due to clicking and I am in all honesty more likely to pick up another one of those for my stock fix

I tried using dull/accurate on my S8+. I lasted about 10 min lol. It was just so "blah" looking. To each their own though.

There's dozens of articles that critics have picked up in regards to the display issue. Is it over blown? Possibly. But even my brother who is an iphone heard about it. Even though it might not be that big of a deal in the end, the reviewers who are a small minority, will impact the majority on their impressions of their phone and ultimately could decide to buy the phone or not.

I am a few days into being an N8 owner and IMO, the N8 is a wonderful alternative for those not wanting to pull the trigger on either Pixel 2.

I've posted earlier in this thread about the deals/strategies OG Pixel owners can do to make the move to an N8 at very little cost. The Android Central N8 thread is a good place to visit if you are thinking of bolting.

I've covered the advantages of the N8 over the Pixel 2 from my perspective in other threads, but one important benefit is just not being a part of the drama/concerns/doubts/defending/arguments/etc.

The screen is fine. Great phone. Had me stressed for a week for no reason. And also Apple says it is Ok.

Too late to cancel, it's on its way. I hope I get lucky that the phone I'll receive:
1. Would have less blue tilt effect (people report less or more of it)
2. No "built-in" screen burn-in
3. Sides of the screen are responsive
4. Battery charges fast as advertised ("fast-charge"), and not crawl from 60%+ to 100.
5. Will not come with a flickering screen
6. Will not come with rows of dead pixels
7. Will come with an OS!

Please... please... *crossed fingers*

PS. It's sad I have to feel I'm rolling a dice when buying a phone.
