How many have canceled pre-orders for the Pixel 2 XL?

Have you canceled your Pixel 2 XL pre-order?

I have a end of November ship date for my Panda XL 2...I am actively watching the forums on what Google is doing to address the screen issues. I don't want to cancel...

Ditto....no reason to cancel yet if you have a future date like November unless anyone has a specific motive.

I was upset about the November end shipping date also, but now I'm happy and hoping Google uses Samsung panels instead of the LG, like Immediately. Otherwise, unless Google actively responds to the screen issue NOW, I will probably cancel my order.

I'm so hoping Google does the right thing. Otherwise, they lose much of their credibility as a Smartphone maker.

I just cancelled my 2XL order. Too much crap going on to justify spending nearly a thousand dollars for a product that's having so many initial quality issues. I really want this one, as opposed to any of the other flagships, so I'll nurse my 6P along until I start hearing that Google has fixed these issues.

I am out. I just don't trust that Google will get/make this right. I've lived with a Pixel that Google couldn't get right for the past year. Too difficult to continue on that path, especially at that top-tier price point, especially with so much wrong from the start.

I broke down and cancelled my 2xl this morning and ordered a pixel 2. I have the smaller OG pixel now (that I love) and almost went with the plain 2 when I first ordered.

I was excited to see how I liked the larger screen on the 2xl, but the fast screen burn was the last straw for me.

I'll see how it goes next time around for the large version, if Google can source a better screen. Especially if they continue to give good trade in deals.

worse case if they can't replace it they will just provide customers refunds IMHO. Like I said above my panda aka storm trooper XL2 only ships on Nov. 20th so I have time to hear what Google plans to do.

Kind of crazy that 36% of the people who voted are canceling their pre-orders.

People expect quality when they pay this much. I'm not saying it's not a good phone, because it is. There's a ton of other good phones out too though, and not everyone values fast updates above all else.

I can't remember who it was on the podcast (probably Andrew) who said you can't be surprised that someone who would drop $900 on a phone sight unseen would also cancel an order sight unseen, or even 5 minutes in demo mode at a Verizon store, but that was spot on.

I didn't cancel, because I want 14 full days with it to see what I think of it in my use case before deciding it's fate.

Lol yeah. He said, easy come, easy go. That's very true.

Blue tint is for people who wear polarized glasses. The XL doesn't have a blue tint but the 2 XL does. If you put on a pair of polarized glasses with the phones side by side, you will see there is no issue. When Google engineers tell people this everyone is going to feel 2 ft tall. YouTube is like the blind leading the blind. This is dangerous in my opinion.

I’m aware of that but I don’t wear polarized glasses year round. I even played with the phone for over an hour at Verizon but still couldn’t get over the blue tint over the slightest angles and now the screen burn issues was the finally straw. I almost canceled my order last week to go with the smaller 2 but knew thay the smaller screen would bug me over time

I’m Ok with my decision because when it’s all said and done, the only reason I wanted the Pixel 2 XL was the camera and I didn’t think that should outweigh iMessage, 10+ movies on my phone, 400+ iTunes songs and everyone in my family and friends owns an iPhone, I knew it was in my best interest to cancel my order.

I am fine with the screen, but I will say once I have the XL in my hands I will be monitoring that screen for burn in for next two weeks like a hawk! I know it may sound crazy, but I dropped after taxes about $1000.00 think if this was Apple or again Samsung this would be all over the news and so forth....especially at that price Google needs to monitor and fix the burn in (if legit) especially!!

Especially when OS updates are mostly incremental at this point instead of major overhauls.

I cancelled my order to let some time pass to see where this goes. There are three 2XL display units (i.e.early production models) around here that I will be checking up on from time to time. If they don't have any burn-in over the next couple of weeks and/or Google makes some kind of statement about it, I'll probably place another order. I really hate Apple/Samsung/etc. so this one is the one I want and hope it turns out to be nothing.

I canceled initially but just placed another order for an XL 128. I'm sticking with it because I feel no phone is perfect and for me, a smooth software experience with arguably the best smartphone Camara ever made is enough to justify my purchase. Sure I could buy a Note 8 or LG V30 with a "perfect" screen but then I'd have to live with stutters and lag which would make me miserable. I personally believe there is no problem with the display just because it's different from others. If there is burn in, I'll get a replacement. No biggie

No lag at all on my s8. Lots of misinformation about the new line of Samsung phones in these threads

I've used my phone since last Saturday and so far so good. Blue tint isn't profound at all. Realistically, I'm liking the screen. One thing that's weird though. When I'm using the Pixel launcher, the wallpapers looks so washed out. But when I use Nova, the colors are more vivid.

While everything seems ok, I'm honestly kind of worried that I'll see the burn in soon. I would really feel defeated if that happens. I have backup plans just in case. Get another Pixel or just give up and get the Note 8 until the Pixel 3. I really hope I can stick to this phone because I love stock Android and the camera is second to none.
