How many have returned/are thinking of returning?

Yeah I guess. I tend to be optimistic, but I have REALLY high expectations for this phone. And I'm very excited, but trying to stay realistic as well.

I understand, as with ANY mass produced product, there are going to be defective parts. (I work at a factory and see this on a daily basis, don't buy a car with a Chrysler made 9 speed transmission). So I guess I should understand.

This is my first Nexus, and my second time with Motorola. I swore them off after my Droid 3 but a lot has changed lol.

I really can't wait, I check the tracking site every 15 minutes.

Lol swore off motorola after my motorola photon on disgusting sprint.... It's also the reason why I bought the nexus 4

This is my first nexus device ever. I am liking it. The only thing that I don't like is twice now it have rebooted by itself but every time it comes back on it is downloading a update from the play store. Is this normal? Can this be fixed with a software update? Is there a option I am missing so the phone doesn't reboot if it needs to down load a update?

It seems to vlbe updates for one of the major apps like google services or whatever

From Nexus 6

Doesn't sound normal! I've had mine going on two weeks now and it's never rebooted randomly once... I've only rebooted once and it was during an update but it asked to reboot and install new update...

Yeah I used to have Verizon and got that as my first smart phone. I loved the slide out keyboard, but after a few months, whenever I slid it out, my screen turned off. And it just got worse, fast.

And every Droid phone Motorola has ever made just, something about them. Even the Turbo, can't stand their appearance, feel, or displays.

Obviously Nexus 6 caused a change of heart though.

For those who are experiencing software bugs, just be patient. Updates will eventually fix everything. I would not return such a new device because of software bugs.

Nothing but Note! A little rim, some backboard, but mostly Note!

Can't return something I haven't been able to get yet. :( That's okay, though, because I knew I wouldn't be getting it first thing anyway and, as mentioned before, there are some advantages to waiting a bit for things to shake out.

Have I thought about changing my mind and not getting it in the first place? Yeah, a little. But then I look at what the alternatives are, weigh the pros and cons, and figure it's worth getting the N6 and seeing how it works out. I'm hopeful that , by the time I get mine, some (all?) the issues will be getting ironed out. Plus, thanks to Robbie317, I already ordered a TYLT VU wireless charger, and neither of the phones I considered getting instead support wireless charging.

But, yeah, I want to put my own wallpaper on my lock screen, too! Not a make or break issue, of course.

Everything? Some Google bugs persist forever. Android still can't reliably send text messages.

Slightly different take...

I usually disregard internet chatter and check things out for myself. Finally got a chance to hold and play with one for myself, and no, it's just too big. Not happening. I'm not a puny person and I've had the Note 2/3, LG G2/3 but there's a limit and this one is pushing it. The sheer size was an immediate turn off for me.
Wish they had made 2 sizes really..

Being on Sprint, I already lost out on them not carrying the 2014 Moto X (bummer) and was banking on the Nexus 6 keeping the same size profile as the Nexus 5, but no bueno for me it seems.

They did make two sizes for the most part; the Moto X 2014 is the smaller size. Not a true Nexus device but hey, Verizon was one of the first to update it to 5.0.

I thought the Note 4 was the size limit for me, but now that feels not as large anymore. After a few days I've acclimated to the size of the N6.

I love this fat guy! I always play with my sisters note and contemplated getting it but I'm a nexus purist and just couldn't give that up. Had the 4 then the 5 love the experience for the most part. When saw the 6 I was ecstatic. I love the size and the heft. It is so beautiful and buttery smooth. Any problems for people I hope are minor and correctable. Don't give up.

One of the biggest mistakes anyone can make is reading forums before they get their phone. Mainly because you will start to look for the problems people are talking about instead of enjoying your phone.

Try to forget about everything you read, and just use the phone. It's a great device. All phones have their share of issues, and this one is no exception. But it's a beast of a phone, and every time I think I might return it I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.

And if I do return it, it will be to get it from the Play store and not AT&T. I ordered from at&t before I knew it was going to be SIM locked, and have that awful splash screen and startup sound.

Well that and you know, actual availability.

I most recently am coming from the Lumia 1520, LG G3, M8, and iPhone 6 Plus.

1. The size of the 6 Plus and N6 are similar, with the 6 Plus have more bezel. Anyone who has had a phablet before isn't going to think the N6 is too big.

2. Battery life on the N6 has been disappointing in my first 5 days with the phone, but it appears to be improving daily. I'm excited to try it tomorrow at work and see how it handles a busy day of phone calls and emails.

As much as I like the new OS, and the phone, for me it really comes down to battery life. If the battery life can get me through a 4am to 9pm day, then I will keep it. If not, ill be going back to the 6 Plus which rarely drops below 40% with my work load. The M8 was similar with battery life.

I should note, I have not rooted yet, but will today, and will start messing with Kernels to see how they possibly will change things.

I've had this phone for a good 2 weeks, I love it! But its the speed the has me worried. My nexus 5 preforms just as good if not faster. Apps will open faster and just is smoother. Could be the encryption I hear people talking about. Maybe I just need to return it and try my luck with a newer nexus 6.

I returned mine and got the iphone 6+. Nothing bad with the phone but the iphone 6+ screen is simply beautiful compared to the nexus 6 which has more of an yellow tint to it. Camera on the iphone is superb compared to the nexus 6.

Also I felt lollipop is much better on my nexus 5. I saw lag while opening the phone dialer and even dialing numbers on the nexus 6. Some App icons look faded and stretched on the nexus 6.

I keep switching between android and ios and I am not really invested in any of the platforms. I just felt the iphone 6+ is a much better option than the nexus 6 for 100 bucks more. purely my thoughts...

I also have a 6+ but need my android fix. I usually go 2 weeks android, 1 week iOS. I like typing and imessage plus have a MBP and iPad air 2.

I self identify as a android user and have had a nexus since the S. I was finally able to order a 64 blue from the play store last week and have already sold and shipped my nexus 5 and lumia 925.

I did order a case which already arrived, and I was a bit concerned with the size of the nexus, but after getting the case, I think the size is fine.

Looking forward to getting my nexus and contributing more to this forum.

Hope I don't want to get rid of it. Found someone that wanted to trade a note 4 for the nexus 6 and said what the hell. So we shall see in a couple hours.

I finally got my Nexus 6, Cloud White, 64GB a few days ago and after using it for a couple hours I couldn't see myself keeping it. Don't get me wrong the phone is gorgeous, fast and built like a tank. I just like smaller phones that go more easily in the pocket and missed the Moto suite of apps my old OG Moto X had. It was a bit too big for my liking, so I'm going with a 2014 Moto X instead.

I was going to return it back to Motorola for a full refund, but decided to throw it on Ebay instead as I knew Motorola was just going to refurbish it and people can't get these anywhere right now. So I did a 1-day auction and started it at the purchase price of $730.00 which included the tax and it just sold yesterday for $1150.00. I almost fell over when I saw how much more I got for it. So anyone thinking of returning it right now may want to list it on Ebay instead.

Actually had this and the note 4 side by side for a while sent note 4 back, going with the cleaner experience. Size difference is really so little to me its a non-issue but guess its in the eye or hand of the beholder

Now that a fair amount of people have had time with their devices, I've began to see many complaints. Some fair, some seem very nitpicky.

I personally am supposed to be getting my Nexus Monday, possibly today. And honestly, after reading through here and XDA, I'm already expecting to return it. I'm going to give it a chance, but being on AT&T Next, I don't feel comfortable keeping it for the long haul. I'm not 100% sure how warranty/insurance works on their end, but I don't think it's nearly the same as getting it directly from GPS or Moto. Either way, if these problems persist, I'll probably just get a G3 and wait for next year...

I returned my nexus 6 yesterday

Battery life is important for me and the battery life wasn't good enough for me.

I own an iPhone 6+ and wanted to see if I could replace it with the nexus 6. Unfortunately I can't. The iPhone easily gets me through the day with regards to battery life.

Another thing that was sorta annoying was the headphone volume. It was just really low. I stream all of my music, so none of the apps in the play store could assist with this.

I've read through a lot of people's responses and there's a lot of my "phone is fine", maybe that's the truth, but thinking back to the nexus 4 and nexus 5 and these are the same the responses that were coming when someone complained about battery life or other thins that plagued the devices. Software updates aren't going to fix the battery life enough.

I do have to agree that you need to evaluate this phone yourself and not let the forums influence you.

In the end, for me, the nexus 6 is just a mediocre container for lollipop. In my opinion of course.

Unfortunately, I have made the same choice.

I think the hardware is outstanding. I think lollipop is a winner too!!.

But the battery life is similar to first generation android devices. Very shocking, and disappointing.

Typically in the morning I wake up and do a 15 to 20 minute surf of news, tech and sports.
On my 6 Plus this drains 1% of my battery, at the most. Typically, 0%.
On my N6, it drains 10 to 12% with screen brightness at 40%
Right now my 6 Plus is at 99% and it's been on for 2hrs.

I've been using smart phones since the Treo, and I would hope that year to year battery life would improve, not get worse.
