How many of you are in a HOLD pattern

I was in a holding pattern, especially after reading all of the reviews. Then I thought, wait I am a reviewer I just review portable audiophile, not phones. So I went to T-Mobile and pulled the trigger, the 64 gb didn't scare me as in the past each phone I would grab as much storage as I can, but never come close to using it. I sold an S10+(loved it) and traded in a 3a for $300. I basically was within $30-$40 of the price.

So far, I bought it on release day, it is certainly what you expect from Pixel. T-Mob only had black, wanted white, but I always use a case so you really can't see it.

I have the Pixel 3, and don't see the value in spending several hundred for something that's not really an upgrade. Seems for every feature the Pixel 4 added, it took away nice features from the Pixel 3. (fingerprint sensor, wide angle front camera, unlimited photo storage, ). Plus the camera is the same outside of the zoom, only improved with software not hardware that the P3 will soon receive. P4 seems like an alternative, not a true upgrade.

I grabbed the 4XL the day it was released directly from Google with a $100 credit towards future Google Store purchases. I have to wait a few weeks for the credit which is fine because I plan to get a few accessories from Google Store during their Black Friday deals.

Black Friday and Christmas are sure to bring tempting deals.

I too was disappointed with the low trade-in value for the Pixel 3 line.

Let us know if you indeed order a Pixel 4! Are you thinking of the regular version or the XL?

I would definitely be ordering a P4XL. I'm like 90% sure I won't order until BF unless I get impulsive and find a reason to buy tonight before the 100 coupon expires, lol

I'm ordering the phone despite the negative reviews although some positive ones have surfaced. Battery life isn't a factor for me and I'm a pixel fan. Reason why I haven't ordered yet is I don't think the phone is worth a thousand bucks with it's omissions and the horrid trade in value for a mint P3XL through Google is ridiculous.

That said, how many are holding off until black Friday to see what deals or discounts "may" be offered from either Google, BB or someplace else? The $100 play store credit is tempting but I would rather a price cut on the phone. Thoughts

I'm holding off for a bit.

Personally I'm ok to pay the premium for getting it early. Moreover I can return my phone till December 8th to best buy so if there is some crazy black Friday deal (which I don't think will be), then I'll just return the phone to best buy get the restocking fee reimbursed by AMEX return protection benefit and buy the black Friday deal. So I'm covered in case if there is some unbelievable deal available with no strings attached.

I do fit the profile. As I said, its not worth several hundred dollars to upgrade (in my case around $600 to $700 to move from the P3XL to the P4XL). If the trade in was better or better discounts, and the cost to upgrade was $200 or so, it would likely make me do it. Similar to last year when I went from P2 to P3 after the black friday sales hit. As it sits now, the updates for P4 are not worth $600-$700 than my P3.

Wait, wait. Some mint note 10 plus's are now selling for under $800 on swappa. So if you hold off for a few months, you may get the Pixel 4 for a lot less.

If you are looking for value and discount you should never buy an Android phone at launch lol.
They always plummet in prices within few months. So if you don't care about having the phone asap it's obviously no brainer to wait.

By Jan, pixel 4 XL will be selling for $600 on Swappa and Craiglist :). I'll be shopping then.

I had to skip the 3XL for financial reasons. I kept. the 2XL and it was fine.

That being said I love the 4XL! Very happy with it.

I handed down my Panda pixel 2 xl to my wife when I got the pixel 3 xl. I asked if she wants the pixel 4 XL, she said no way lol. She loves her Panda so much I think she will be using probably until pixel 6 lol.
