How much data are you at?

Based on a of peoples usage you can look forward towards tiered data and throttling in the future...

I agree 100%. I use Wifi whenever possible. I use around 200 MB of 3g data maximum. Usually less.

last month Blackberry = 280MB
this month Thunderbolt (last day today) = 3.4GB and counting (and I didn't get the t-bolt till 3/18)

I have 4G LTE, never on wifi. (Upload speeds on LTE is faster than my crappy Road Runner)

2 days into my billing cycle burly I have used 19 MB

That's how I'm checking too. That freaking flash ad covering the login drove me crazy for half an hour!

Today is the end of mine, 442.65MB. Never got past 35-40MB on my BlackBerry. Always on WiFi as well.

Got the phone on launch day and cycle ends on 4/16 (timed it well). With four days to go I'm at 6.3 gigabytes. On my Storm 2, I would typically range between 600 megs to just a bit over 1 gig.

Easy way to check on your phone is to call #data. You get a free text message with your data and text message usage. Miss having the MyVerizon app on my phone.

Thanksx, good tip. However I have my messages blocked. Looking forward to myverizon app.

People love to brag about how much data they're sucking up with their unlimited data plans. They laugh about how they're using a GB a day, but in the end, they're the reason the carriers are moving to tiered data. 2-5GBs a month is way more than I would ever use (WiFi, people) but would be a reasonable amount. But 15-25 gigabytes per month? You're going to get some unfriendly letters in the mail. They can shut you down at any time, no matter what your "unlimited" data plans may state.

I'm not laughing or bragging. Someone asked how much data everyone is using, so I answered. I'm not trying to burn through data, I'm just enjoying the phone.

I'm sure that Verizon is expecting heavier data usage due to the fast network speeds. They packed in tons of media streaming apps on the device like YouTube, Blockbuster, and TuneWiki, so they obviously want people to use the phone for a multimedia experience.
If some users don't want to use the phone for what it was made to do, that's your decision.
The total monthly smartphone contract price that Verizon charges is over 2x the price of broadband internet access.

...and HSBC is charging me 8 times that amount for my car, what's your point? You're comparing apples to oranges here. Let's say landline-based internet comes in at around 45 bucks a month. You're complaining that MOBILE broadband internet is $30? Abusing the system to justify the cost will only make it worse. If you weren't bragging about your usage, then I wasn't talking to you. It seems to have struck a chord with you, however.

I don't see it as abusing the system. I have unlimited data so I don't try to curb my usage at all. I don't tether either. When I'm on a tiered plan then ill watch my usage.

I can see it's not hard to use a lot if data. I'm up to 3 GB almost at the end of my cycle.

I don't think anyone is bragging. I was just so surprised how much more data I use on Android over Blackberry. I was curious to know what the average data use is on an Android.

I agree. I think the whole reason they gave us unlimited data on this phone was to know how to tier later down the road. I mean 5GB or 6GB would be a good top tier I would think. I'll probably end up with right at or just under 5GB.

They have to realize that such an advanced phone on such an advanced network is going to be used to its fullest extent by some people. I'm not doing anything except what I am able to do on the phone. I'm not using Mobile Hotspot and I'm the only one who uses my phone.

some folks are KILLING the data... I need those sitting under a GB to pick up the pace.. I generally use anywhere between 14 to 20 Gb but thats across multiple devices and lots of data tests...

Just waitin on LTE to hit my area and Netflix to stream, but I'm still working it.

Turn up 4g in Augusta Ga and I will be happy to do my part.

660.70MB and i'm 21 days in... but to be fair I have yet to even experience 4G, and I tend to switch to WiFi at work.

How many of you are able to use LTE? I've used 2.571 gb on my OG Droid with 4 days left in the billing period.

I have LTE in quite a bit of my area's, but i still go to Wi_fi at home. LTE around where I live, and 3G soon to be 4G where I work.
