How often do you restart your phone?

About once a week on my Nokia 8.3 5g Android 11 but if there is a carrier services update after that has happened.

Last 2 phones have a schedule restart option. This thread just reminded about that feature as I had turned it off.

Maybe once every 2 weeks is how often I restart if that. My V60 never gives any issues so I restart usually when I feel like it.

Lmao. I just realized my new Oneplus has this. I'm definitely using it now.

Now that I no longer need to be on call 24/7 as an IT Systems Engineer (retired) I turn off my phone every night! Even when I was still working I would reboot/restart every morning...takes all of 60 seconds and keeps everything running smoothly. I am convinced that this has contributed to me not having all the strange issues that so many others constantly complain about. Android is still NOT Windows server! It took Microsoft between 12-15 years before they could finally provide a truly stable 99.9 uptime server OS. Not to mention, Windows server is not expected to do as many diverse tasks as an Android smartphone is expected to do. I currently use a OnePlus 8T with a 3rd party app for software shut off, and the native app for scheduled turn on...all to save the hardware power button.

You know what, having that scheduled restart feature is so useful! I may have to root around in my phone's setting for it, too.

No luck finding it on my Nokia 7.2

There are 3 reset options under System, Advanced but not restart phone.

Not including monthly updates....none willingly. I had a hard crash a couple weeks ago, where I had to simulate a battery pull. But other than that, no voluntary restarts.

I restart every Friday, so the phone is fresh for the weekend!

People that I know who don't restart on a regular basis tend to have more issues come up.

Oh, no! That is too bad. I'm still looking for it on my S10. Will attempt to try again after I'm done work.

Hi Morty!

The option is in:

Settings/Battery and Device Care/

Select the three dot menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen & then select 'Automation'.

Next choose the 'Auto restart at set times' & you can set your schedule.

:)

Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it!

Last thing each night I charge my phone to 80%, which is a setting on the phone, then power off and go to sleep. If power off and then power on is what you mean, then I do it every day. If you mean a reset, I do that perhaps twice a year, more or less.
