1. Correct. Just follow instructions in the first post, then run root.app.

2. Correct as well. I didn't script these to close terminal at the end encase there were errors. That way people can post they errors if the occur.

3. No.

4. ehernandez got it working today. If you follow the instructions very carefully, you will be fine. Also, if cwm fails and your phone doesn't reboot, your phone will still work. Just means you wont have cwm and you'll have to try the process again. I just recommend posting the script output before you do. I have yet to brick my phone using these 1-click methods. But I have bricked it installing roms from recovery. So if/when you do, make sure you install super frankenclean 2.6.zip for the time being.

No.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! I'm going to wait until after work today so I have some time in case I run in to any problems. I'm downloading the super frankenclean 2.6.zip right now via my phone browser. Will this automatically be on my sd card or do I need to move it there? Also to boot into CWM do I hold power and both volume keys while turning the phone on? and finally, to flash the rom in CWM i click on install update from zip correct?

Yes, it will be saved on your SD card, probably a browser downloads folder. You might want to move that to the root of your SD card before booting into recovery. You just need to hold both volume keys, then hit the power button while continuing to hold volume keys until you see red recovery. And correct, choose install zip from sdcard, then browse for zip on sdcard..or something to that effect

Seriously thank you for all of the help. Today my friend let me barrow his pc, so I actually just ended up using the droidxcon's all in one package and it worked great. I wish I could give you feedback on how using a mac worked, but I just felt more comfortable going that route because more have used it so far and I am COMPLETELY new to this. But after using 2.6 for 15 minutes now, I am blown away! Never would've guessed a new rom could do all this!

Using IMac with Leopard OSX I rooted with 1 click method successfully and then installed 1 click CWM and lost all haptic feedback as well as vibrate. My phone shows the following:
Firmware version 2.1-update1
Baseband version S:i500.04 V.EA28
Kernel version 2.6.29
Build number SCH-1500.EA28

Any ideas on how to restore haptic feedback and vibrate? I checked all settings and they still show it is enabled. Phone works great otherwise!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

try this kernel HERE

you can flash it from clockwork now that you have it

DroidX:

Thanks for the help. I downloaded the file and placed it on my sd card. I booted into CWM and this is where I get stuck. It appears that CWM is looking for an update.zip file. Do I need to rename the file with .zip and then select it? Never used CWM but I want to learn. I haven't bricked the phone yet!!:D

Did you do anything after installing CWM? Like try to install Froyo?

No, just did the 1 click root - everything was fine. Did the 1 click CWM and after that vibrate wont work as well as haptic key-press. Haven't gotten brave enough to try Flashing Froyo. Thanks!

Braydon:

The vibrate and haptic press aren't that big of a deal to me but those are the only two issues I have seen. Everything else is A - OK!

Hmm, I haven't actually tested these mods on 2.1. When i run the 1-click I just test recovery and install froyo. I'll have make one and test it on 2.1, thanks for the feedback! I'll keep you posted

More to come...

WARNING! Currently the only way to go 100% back to stock and “de-void” your warranty is by using Odin. This is still in beta phases and has been tested on the DI01, DL09, EA28, and EB01 builds, but I only recommend doing this if you have access to a PC with Odin.

PLEASE NOTE: All Hacks and modifications made to your phone are done at your own risk. Neither Android central nor I are responsible for what you do to your phone. So proceed with caution and watch carefully, read carefully and ask questions.

Also, your phone must be rooted to install clockworkmod. See 1-click-root

Tip: I recommend extracting the files to your desktop or the root of your hard drive.

For DI01, DL09, or EA 28:

  1. Download and extract:
  2. Enable USB debugging and Stay awake under Settings > Applications > Development, leave the phone in the Development window
  3. Plug your phone into your computer
  4. Double click kernel.app, confirm install (process should take about a minute)
  5. Phone will be rebooted automatically if first step was successful
  6. When your phone boots back up, double click cwm.app, confirm install (process should take less than 20 seconds)
  7. Phone will be rebooted automatically if second step was successful
  8. Close terminal

For EB01:

  1. Download and extract:
  2. Enable USB debugging and Stay awake under Settings > Applications > Development, leave the phone in the Development window
  3. Plug your phone into your computer
  4. Double click cwm.app, confirm install (process should take about a minute)
  5. Phone will be rebooted automatically if this step was successful
  6. Close terminal

Congrats! You now have red recovery.

If anyone has any problems or questions, please let me know. Please also post if you are successful.

Thanks for your post! I followed the instructions but I'm not sure it was successful. ea 28 BTW.

It rebooted my phone the for the first part of the instructions but the second part for the cwm.app the phone got a black screen with red words that said reboot but the phone didnt reboot...I don't think. How can I tell?

You would def see the boot up screen if it rebooted, can you boot into recovery? If not try the cwm.app again. And post the output from terminal if it doesn't reboot the phone

anyone running superclean 2.7 or 2.8?? im on 2.6 using this method but just curious to see if i should update to newer versions. I noticed that some of my incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Anyone else with reception issues?

I haven't had any reception issues. I'm gonna test 2.8 these evening, I'll let you know how it works out.

sweet!! Let me know....if we update do we have to customize (meaning wallpaper, icons, applications) our phone all over again?

Nope! Unless you install with Odin. But there is a version that droidxcon made for Odin that doesnt wipe user data.

does booting into recovery mean holding down volume rocker and power button while restarting? if so, then yes, I can do that.
