How to change Bluetooth Codec in Developer Options and have it stick

I want to change the default Bluetooth Codec from aptX to LDAC and change the related settings (I found awesome Bluetooth IEMs that support LDAC and support 32-bit 96kHz - available on Amazon).

I've learned this is done in Developer Options:

https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...io-your-galaxy-s9-with-custom-codecs-0183398/

https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/activate-developer-options-your-galaxy-s9-0183344/

I changed them to what I want -- LDAC, 32-bit, 96kHz. Actually, it seems if I just set the Codec to LDAC I can leave the other two set to “Use System Selection (Default)” and it uses 32-bit, 96kHz.

My problem is that I can't get the changes to stick. I set the Codec to LDAC and can play music that way (which is super sweet with these headphones, by the way!), but it reverts back to the aptX default whenever I restart the phone. It seems to make no difference whether I've left Developer Options turned On or have turned it Off.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Stock Android (Pixel 2 on the April update) seems to be the same, so it's possibly there for future implementation.

Interesting.

It seems to work fine while I have it set, until a restart loses it -- but that's just based on my non-audiophile ear. Does that seem to be the case to you as well when you test it (assuming you have LDAC-compatible Bluetooth headphones)?

Thanks!
