How to create a contact for a cofrence call that automatically dials the passcode?

Trouble is, the directions didn't work for me. I tried entering the numbers into my contacts in all of the following ways:

6098675309,123PASSCODE
6098675309,123PASSCODE#
6098675309,,,,,,123PASSCODE#
6098675309,,,,,,123PASSCODE

The conference call directions say to enter the pass code, followed by the pound sign.

Which each of the variations above, I wait a while and then get told my pass code is invalid. I triple checked all of the numbers involved.

What am I doing incorrectly?
