Glad I could help out. First boot up takes a while after you wipe dalvik cache in my experience. Battery life can be a challenge, but make sure to read gunner mike's how to improve battery life thread.

I suggest redownloading Odin and CWM to avoid the chance that you got corrupted downloads. Also make sure you disable any anti-virus software currently running on your computer. And you're running on a PC and not a Mac right?

Also to add to what fear suggested, download and install 7zip this will help it recognize the file type

ya im on a pc. what links should i use if the ones provided in the walk-through are possibly corrupt?

For those planning to flash KangBang or EvilFascination etc... they can skip flashing the superuser and busybox zip and flash the rom zip in it's place since their zips contain them... right? Reference post #5 in sticky

It's not that the link itself leads to a corrupted download, it's that some how as it was downloading it either didn't fully download or something downloaded inproperly. Use the same links and just redownload as they have been working fine for others. Allow the downloads to finish uninterrupted, meaning just leave everything be until finished. Also what Droidxcon suggested will help, download 7zip or winrar which you can easily locate through google search. Either one will help distinguish the file to odin. (You do not need to actually open either of those programs to do anything to the file, it's just to help odin recognize.)

That is correct, when flashing either of those ROM's they already include them in the file and will be added through the flash. This results in your phone being rooted when the flash is complete.
