HOW TO FIX-fastboot mode started udc_start()

Well I'm not sure what to do so I'll ask:

I called myself try to "be proactive" by using cwm to do a backup of my stock rom, long story short when I selected the backup option gave it a name for saving and clicked OK the application quick kicked me to some black screen w/ wording I couldn't read at that moment b/c it kinda cropped off at the top of my screen. I waited for a bit (maybe not long enough, not too sure) and worry and impatience got to me so I pulled my battery. When I cut the phone back on it soon became clear what the words said "fastboot mode started udc_start()".

....now I guess that's where I'm stuck

I suppose that I get this may be just a soft brick, but I have done any heavy Modding other than rooting my phone, as I just got it a couple of days ago. Please tell me would the methods here really be the best?? Does anyone have links to roms or whatever that relate to the att lg stock roms or is it still buried in my phone somewhere and Ijust need to get to it somehow. Any help would be sooo appreciated.

Dammit, well basically from reading mostly everything it all boils down to me hooking up to my computer which I can't right know seeing as though my power cord crapped out on me....:'(

Guess now I've got to work even quick at getting a replacement.... unless there's a computer-less method. Guess I gotta bust out my "dumb" lg gophone until I can sort this out.

if its still new enough you can go back to att and tell them is craped out when you tryed to update it.
fyi the update is done with comp, but they dont need to know yers is broken

in the future of cwm. as it states many times in many places. dont use rom manager to back up roms.

Ha, that's what I get for not being thorough in reading up on this cwm thing, I guess. Well it's not much I can so until I get my new power cord b/c I can't go to no att store as I got mines off eBay. So I don't really have a choice but to wait on this power cord to come (I literally bought it several minutes ago). :-\

Edit: Well my mind got the thinking about the suggestion you made, LifesGoodPhoenix, and I think I may actually give what you mentioned a try. I called my local att store and worked a bit of a "half-truth", lol, where I mentioned I got it as a giftand that I let my younger cousin play around with and that they "did something " to it but that I didn't know what and that they wouldn't tell me, but that I'm sure that it's some sort of software issue. So they said I could bring it by and they'd take a look at it. I'll try to stop by tomorrow since I'm working today and won't really have time to do it and see what I can work that out. What driver did you use im trying to load the p506 drivers

HiI have a Lg thrive p506go i have done all the steps above I have msxml,kdz_fw_updater,lgmoblieDl.dll,mfc42.dll and the v10e_00.kdz along with the wondows enabler I cant seem to get the right drivers for this I dont understand whats going at this point I have tryed the updater and it say the is connected but when I start loading the v10e file it dose its thing then it cant find the port or the phone

did you disable the lg modem in device manager before starting the kdz?

Great news, little plan went surprisingly smooth! The in-store Rep was really cool about trying to fix it in store and when that was unsuccessful he got me the special number for sending it in. After about a good 30 min on the phone (and some further half-truthing, lol), the Rep set me up with a replacement phone! I should be getting it in about a week or so.

Man LifesGoodPhoenix, thanks for the suggestion! It sure beats me having to wait almost the same amount of time to get that power cord for my laptop, plus I don't have to do the dirty work of looking for files, drivers, and the like, lol.

Ok once you decompress kdz updater there are three seperate files to work with. 1. windows enabler. 2. msxml.msi 3.KDZ_FW_UPD.exe

i dont understand..Is it another file or something???

hey i have a lg thrive and im at the part where i select the kdz file. But when i click on the browse bar it doesnt show that file... pls help me...

either you dont have the file . or your not giving the right path to it. ie browse to the folder that has the kdz file then select the file.

hey i fixed it but i had to restart to get the driver disabled and now the phone isn't connecting...

yes disable LGMODEM in device manager.
only turn on usb debugging in phone.
then run the kdz

hey thanks for all the help. so i did all that and it worked...kind of. basically my phone instead of fastbooting it just goes into emergency mode...even if i try to hard reboot. and yes i did remove the battery sd and sim and tried all combinations...

i've tried that my computer doesnt even detect it and i tried it on two different computers.

you will need to mannually install the drivers if you havent already, try different combos of the battery in and out when you plug the phone in I had to screw with mine for a while but it came to life and detected after some fiddling

with combos do you mean sim and sd 2 or just taking out the battery and then pluging the phone in or something like that?
