Would you mind sharing what your Lux settings are? I've installed it but my battery life actually got worse. Obviously I've got something set wrong or don't completely understand it. Thanks for any info.

Lux is my top recommendation as well. Not just for battery saving, but for people, like me, who have eyes that are sensitive to light

Wouldn't this prevent you from getting messages from any messaging service such as hangouts or kik?

Yes. Until you unlock the phone... Which I agree I wouldn't do. I like having my phone receive push data.

You can set it to not turn off data until the phone has been of for 2minutes if you want. And there is a widget to turn on and off deep sleep when you don't want it. It's great for using at night or when your phone will be in your pocket for a while and you don't need constant notifications. ie. Work and school
