Could someone tell me what the music unlock controls are? I keep hearing about them but can't figure out what they do?

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

I believe this is a function that allows you to control your music that is playing while the phone is locked. This way you don't have to unlock the phone to control the music ie. next, back, play, pause.

This being removed you would need to unlock your phone to control the music that is playing.

for some reason my contacts dissapeared and its saying my task manager is not installed and my gmail keeps force closing im not sure if its one of the themes i had or something else has anyone else had this problem with the themes im about to flash superclean 2.9 and see if it changes

What happens if you dont delete those apps first? (I have 3 of the 4, no Pandora)

I haven't tried it so this is just speculation but I'd say there's a 90% chance you'll have problem if you try to run those app. There's a chance his themed apps could just overwrite them, or that the un-themed apps would still appear. The best guess is you'll get a FC when you open one of the duplicated apps. I'd make a backup of the apps, in case you don't like his version, delete them, then flash the app.zip in clockwork. Here's the link to his post over on xda.

I don't know what would happen and I don't really want to find out. He developed the theme and is saying explicitly in no uncertain terms to delete the stock apps before flashing the themed apps zip. Maybe it's just me, but I choose to take the developer's word at face value and follow his directions when it pertains to something about his theme, and don't ask why and what will happen if I don't follow his advice. I just follow their instructions because they know a hell of a lot more than I do. But if you choose to not believe the developer or ignore their advice then by all means go ahead and see what happens.

Theme question

Think i am going to start trying some themes. I have been looking to find a thread on here on how to properly install them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks!

Flashing a zip file:
Zip files can be flashed for many different reasons such as applying roms, themes, kernels and applications.
Before flashing a zip file you must make sure that the file is for your particular device and will be compatible
with the current build you are on.
When flashing a zip wiping data or cache is usually not necessary, Unless you are flashing a Rom then wiping data or cache may be necessary

To flash a zip file from clockwork
(at apply sdcard:update.zip you dont have to apply it, i was just showing what screen you would be led into)

Thanks... I will check that thread out.

DXC - how do I know if the theme is compatible?

Oh, you know I have no problem with trying all kinds of different things, just look at my nandroid testing posts. I'm not Gunner. I don't read the dev's advice and think "Ooooh, let me try the opposite of that to see if it will bork my phone" :D:p
Did you get my PM about the nandroid issue and fixing permissions?

Go to the sticky like land shark said its all there outlined

The thread lists them as (2.2 Froyo Themes) then lists links to themes for other versions below those.

Also you can click on the developer name as it is a link to the developers post giving information on said theme.

Jaekar99 has put in a ton of work to put together and maintain the themes thread. The themes are listed in post #2, and he has also taken the time to make it a little easier on everyone by listing next to some of the themes what sc version and ROMs they are compatible with. If he doesn't have it listed just click on the developers name next to the title of the theme and that will take you to the developer's thread for that theme. Most of them document what builds and ROMs their themes are compatible with there. Make sure to hit the thanks button for Jaekar. Like I said he put in a lot of work to put it together and he puts in a lot of work to maintain it.

OK, now we've got triple dueling banjos. Wait can you call it a duel if there are three? :p And reference back to DroidXcon's post if you want that visual guide to help you along with Jaekar's step by step instructions. I know I'm a visual learner so something like that definitely helps me.

For those out there wondering Nitroglycerin has version 2.0 of nitrocomb ready to go. Over on xda he said as soon as he updates the screen shots he'll have it posted.

He's doing some great work with his themes. You mentioned earlier about how when you flash he has is set to display: clearing cache, done, please reboot now. Nitro's really going the extra mile not only putting that in there but making sure everything is flawless before releasing it for others. Looking forward to checking 2.0 out I've been getting a little jumpy anyway, haven't had anything to flash in a day or two, starting to feign, now I know how charlie sheen feels lol.
