I know that imnuts was finishing up some new kernel tests and that he got the smartass governor working... so there is hope.

One of those little bits of info that Samsung does not share with many... I only figured it out after pulling bootanis apart and put them back together again..

The kernel will look for certain files in certain locations, in a prioritized order; upon boot.. data/local, then system/media...

It will also look for bootani.qmg (stock boot) first then it will look for bootanimation.zip second.. If your phone is set up with a kernel to look for this.... Now if you have both on your phone (in the same directory) - your phone will not know what to play first.. and will play them both at the same time.. overlapping boots.

If you have neither and the phone expects it you will get the 'Android' logo in landscape on your screed during boot...

Tasty bit for the day..

I have had no luck with installing the boot animations manually. I only have luck with the flashable boot animations. I tried the fix on the first post and deleted the .qmg and then installed the bootanimation.zip but i still get the android logo in landscape. What could i be doing wrong? I also restarted phone multiple times to see if would work but no luck.

When you get the landscape boot, it means that there is no bootanimation.zip file in your media folder. Make sure you move a nonflashable zip in there. When you tap on a zip file in root explorer and see a metainf folder that means flash.... no metainf means manual.

I would guess that you are running a kernel that does not support bootanimation.zip files. If it was seeing the bootani.qmg file and not the bootanimation.zip file that is an indicator that the kernel is stock and will not seek the zip file.. The fact you had a bootani.qmg file is an indicator that you had a stock ROM of some kind and with that came the packaged stock kernel.

It is rather odd that you can get a flashed boot to run but not a manual transfer..

If you are not running a stock kernel then there is a misspelling or misplacement of a file or files.

If you are running the EC10 kernel that came with SC 2.9.2 you should be able to swap out bootanimation.zip files in the system/media folder without any problems..

The only thing that I can think of that could be causing this to take place is the file manager you are using is not actually moving/copying the file from your sdcard to the the desired location. Make sure you have the read/write access enabled.. If you have that then you might consider..
I have seen a report (gunnermike53) had something like that happen and he had to completely reflash the base ROM to get boot animations to work for him.. That may be a last ditch option..

I will keep my eye out for something like this and if so garner a solution.

Until then there are plenty of flashable boots out there and there are lots that included in themes.

I am using root explorer and I do see it copy it but maybe it doesn't fully copy. There are some cool flashable boots but I really want the droid pissing on the apple haha

I want a flashable pissing droid too. I checked one a few wkns back didn't work. Maybe jae came across a new one. Wouldn't put it past him. Hes great like that.

Not sure what happened

So I followed the instructions for loading a theme (Nitro Dark Eclipse) For what ever reason nothing happened. I copied it to my SD card boot to recovery go through CWM back up, cleared cache partition and Davlik. Then I couldnt find the file anywhere?????
Now after I've rebooted my phone if I try to turn on USB debugging I get and error (No accessibility services). I check "Accessibility" and it says I do not have any applications and wants me to download screen reader from the market.
Any ideas what I did wrong? Could have sworn I followed the instructions step by step did I miss or mess up something? Should I download the screen reader and start over?
I believe I am running SC2.9.2 (it was one of DXC's all in ones that has sense been pulled from his thread) I have the new CW-all and EBO1.

As always thanks for the help.

Here is what I can find in a quick minute.. it is lower quality and installs in data/local...

Something has happened to the ROM - what it is - difficult to tell.. I would almost guess that something did not mount correctly.

First step: go into CWM and restore the backup you made. - If it does not restore (or you did not back it up).. you are left with the Second option: To go back and reflash the base ROM SC 2.9.2 (Odin).. You may have to check in to that thread to see if others have experienced this effect.

I am not sure why you could have lost the theme on your sdcard. It is likely there you cannot see via CWM.. I help manage a couple of phones that have so much on their sdcards that it makes it hard to find things.. I made a directory called '1Themes' - that way due to naming it will always be near the top of the list and I drop themes in there.

Should I just wait and maybe youll find something better? i wont be home till tomorrow, I could just download it from my phone and flash it though i guess. If that works, let me know

I am currently looking for the higher def version if I cannot find it I have all the files and will try to get it packaged into a flashable zip.. it may take me a bit to find some free time to pull it together... sorry for the wait guys.

Thanks buddy your the best. Keep me posted,
edit just flashed the one u posted and didnt work still had the purple honey comb, so the wait continues.

When you click on usb debugging, the pop up that appears is not an error. Just click on yes in that pop up and usb debugging will be enabled. Not sure why you are getting the message with screen reader. I looked up screen reader in the market and the first app that appeared was talkback which is a native app that will enable text to voice so you don't have to read texts while driving. It will turn your texts to voice so you can listen to your texts. It should already be on your phone, but if it's not, it is safe to download. How did you load the theme onto your sd card? Knowing how you did that would help to try and figure out where the file is.

It is your lucky night -Success - got the resolution set - Here is a beta release - I still have to adjust the frame height a bit more and the frames/sec need some adjusting but this is better than the other and it installs where it is supposed to,- Totally flashable in CWM.

Enjoy guys.. Andipee2
