How to make microSD Card adoptable using Android Oreo, S7 Edge

I have followed many of the posts for converting my microSD card to adoptable storage. It has not worked. Can someone post an update based on android 8.0.0, Oreo? Step by step would be really helpful. I have been able to follow instructions at modaco and have made it to the end of the post but, when I check my storage capacities, nothing has changed. Please help!!!

Samsung has (wisely, for once, since it's such a bad idea) to not implement adoptable storage. (It causes SD card failure a lot earlier than it should, because an app installed on [not moved to] the card writes to the card constantly - and SD card lifetimes are measured in the number of writes. (It's huge, but if 10 apps are constantly writing to it 24 hours a day, the card can go bad in a few months [and system apps, that you never see, can end up on the card].)
