I have contacted Verizon, about this, they first reduced the range of our neighbors network extender, this had no effect, they then sent me a free network extender to hook up. The problem is that it requires a faster speed than we are currently running on our WiFi. I am now forced to change my WiFi to cable to get a faster speed to enable the network extender to even function. I have been reading on the internet about these things & I have seen that the two network extenders may cancel each other out.... I guess we'll see.
I have been brow beating Verizon to send me a free network extender, but the best I can do is get one for $175. How did you get them to send you a free one?? What is the trick? (Are you a business, I hear they are more lenient toward business than personal accts.)
I was told that the reason our service is so bad in our new home is that we are connecting to a neighbor's netowrk extender. Verizon said they cannot contact that neighbor for me and that I have to go knocking on doors to find the neighbor. But sounds like even if I found them there is not much they can do!
