how to make video call (GSM) in nexus 4?

thats agood question ,there is such thing, that feature is possible onolder vesions of android ,1.5 to 4.0.4 android,,

Ah.... sort of like facetime but for anyone who has a data connection. No need to have a 3rd party app. That would be so cool. At this point, I'd just settle for a good voice calling service over data without all the problems with the existing apps. Of course carriers won't support something like that because we'd be killing their networks. They already think we're data hogs.

Hi raj24,

I tried figuring out your requirement. The thing is you wana make a video call via network carrier i.e GSM/UMTS/CDMA.... to other 3G enabled phones without any third party apps right...??

Here is your answer : the feature is called "Native Video Calling" this feature is not basically supported on android phones. But Yes Samsung Android Mobiles does support this feature and Unfortunately there's no native 3G video calling support on nexus 4.

Please be clear next time when you post a question ;)

Is it possible to make video call (GSM) in nexus 4 via wifi/3G?
With Nexus 4 you cannot make. but I believe with nexus 5 you can. with Samsung phones I'm 100% sure you can make 3G GSM video calls since 2008/2009. They started with their 1st phone Samsung Star 3G which supported 3G video calls using gsm network (not data).

***No added software is required. You need a 3G enabled phone with 3G enabled SIM card with a front facing camera.

No it's not impossible !!! I have been doing it for over a year now with GiffGaff (O2 Network) It's also FREE from GiffGaff to GiffGaff. I always have my data switched off until I need to use it, and I never have to switch it on to video call. How is it working then if you say it's impossible ????

Yes it is possible. I have been doing it for ages, with data switched off, on the GiffGaff network (O2) Free GiffGaff to GiffGaff, 50p per min. to other networks.

No he meant to use dialing up in video calling mode by GSM with other subscriber. rather than skype tango etc

Of course you can !! My girlfriend and I have been video calling each other for nearly 2 years on the Giff Gaff network. She has no Data in her plan and I leave mine OFF until I want to browse the net or send an email.
All of you that say its not possible, dont know what you are talking about !
Your Dialer must have a video call button and away you go.
The stock Dialer in 4.4. does not have a video call button, so find one that does !
