Re: [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVH
The parts of step 3 that I had control over shouldn't be using /data internal storage. It only uses about 10KB of /system storage and then the rest of the space is on /sdcard.
Now it is possible that the adb server uses temp storage on /data before moving the files to sdcard.
I'm hesitant to suggest people do a factory reset right away at that point because depending on your upgrade scenario, ZVH is designed to work with your existing setup. If you factory reset at that point before you even allow ZVH to install, you'll never have a chance for that to happen.
Further, factory resetting at that point prior to V9 recovery install could brick your phone depending on what method you use and what recovery you had installed prior. Even if I write detailed instructions, people always find a way to do their own thing. I felt it was safer to do the reset after ZVH was installed.
Anyway, I think your case will be rare and there is a relatively simple workaround that would be obvious for most.
Thanks for your comments. Thanks for the guide, was able to do this with relative ease. I don't have time now, but I will be rooting later today or this week.
I ran into a small problem when flashing stock V9 recovery (step 3). It said something about insufficient storage space. I had many apps so my internal storage was running low. I just uninstalled a few of them and voila, all's well. So I would suggest doing the factory reset before doing step three, if like me, you are short on storage.
P.S I had about 19 mb of internal storage left.
Thanks again.![]()
