you will need a stock recovery to flash update.zips

If you follow this guide to the letter, it will unroot you in the process. But will also then re root and install xionia recovery. Just follow directions and you are set!

never mind. found drivers. flashed to zvh, rooted, and flashed xionia recovery! work like a charm!

My SMS isn't working. I can send messages, but I can't seem to receive any messages. The same for phone calls. Please help. I'm a student and communication is pretty important. I'm a noob so if you could "dumb down" things, sorry.

1) Can you verify you radio was upgraded to ZVH? I think it was or you wouldn't be getting any data.
2) If you have issues with apps working, you should first perform wipe dalvik cache, if that doesn't help, perform factory reset. Backup whatever you need before factory reset.

Also sometimes when you restore stuff after an upgrade it doesn't work right, so test out SMS after the factory reset, before restoring anything.

I can make calls and send texts no prob, receiving is a different story. I tried calling my cell and it went straight to voice mail and texts I don't know what happens there. data works fine. send emails, download apps and surf the web with no prob. please help!

Just reverted back to zvd and used gingerbreak apk to root. Froyo worked better anyways. one q though, can I still use the xionia recovery even though it is zvd? I liked it vs the stock zvd.

Figured out that Google Voice was the issue. I had uninstalled, but "Do not disturb" must have turned on. Took almost an hour on the phone with a Sprint tech to figure this out.

My uncle got the zvh upgrade through sprint. could i just jump to the zvhroot step to root it. his phone has never been rooted. the goal is to downgrade to zvd and flash miui rom (miui + cm7) by invincible madness.

Then don't bother rooting zvh. Follow this thread to get back to zvd.

So from the zvh recovery flash the zvd update zip?
already made the rom manager mistake in the past. wont do that again. also i used to have a custom recovery and created a nand backup. now i have xionia can i restore the nand backup or is it useless now?

It took the change, but the main title hasn't changed.

Does anyone (moderator?) know if this is a caching issue that will resolve itself or something special needs to be done.

I tried to and it does update (as can be seen in the subtitle of the first post) but for some reason the system won't update the main title that is shown in the forum view.
