Agreed...got my first thanks...made me smileDont forget to use the "Thanks" button, if you truly want to thank someone. It will change that posters 'Thanked by' count so they can show they are a productive person in society (it also creates a warm fuzzy feeling in their tummy).
@james2442 First off, I owe you a huge thanks. You're little explanation helped me out a ton.
I followed your advice and now I'm rooted on 2.2 and able to use SetCPU again.
Step by Step Instructions:
1. Downloaded RSD Lite v4.8
2. Downloaded the SBF File that is located in the link.
3. Set X to PC Mode and turned on USB Debugging
4. Plugged into computer
5. Opened RSDLite
6. Selected the SBF File in RSD Lite
7. Hit Start button and let it process through it's actions. It took about 8 minutes.
8. Process completed, checked for SU file and it was gone.
9. Rooted using the DoRoot.bat and everything worked perfect.
Thanks alot
so what is the proper steps? i mean do i launch cd/adb shell etc the directions are not very clear how to start this....
the easiest way is to open an app that requires root, if you get the grant superuser access and can allow it, obviously you're rooted. If notOkay so I did this and the app said congratulations you are now rooted.
So how do I check on my phone to see if I am actually rooted? Last time I rooted on 2.1 I got the ninja guy to come up on my phone and let me click superuser permissions button but not this time.

If notThe process above involving rsd lite is not to root your phone, but it clears out the root files if you were rooted using 2.1 and then did the update (official) to froyo. After running the above process, you will be stock 2.2. Then check out Team Black Hat, for 2.2 root instructions.
