Step 2 link does not work

Step 2 link on the guide does not work. Does that mean I can skip that step?

I have an unrooted Nexus One that I bought from Vodafone Italy. It is still on 2.2.1. I'm currently in the US using T-Mobile. Apparently, I read that Vodafone Nexus One's are not really stock Android, and that's why I haven't received an ota yet.

Help please.

Well, this place is active...no answers, huh?

So I just took the risk and tried step 1. No need for the other steps after that. I got an OTA update alert for 2.3.3. So I went straight from FRG33 to GRI40.

Just wanted to update in case this post might be helpful to others.

Thank you. Really. Thank you for providing this information AND for explaining it in such a manner that I (not the sharpest knife in the drawer) could understand and accomplish the tasks. I bought this N1 on eBay a week ago for the purpose of learning android and all that goes with it - rooting, aps, et cetera. Yours were the first instructions that I've been able to find that were clear and not all jargon.

In any case, I must ask. How in the hell did you figure all this out? From a number of sources or simply trial, trial, error and trial?

Thank you again!
David
