How to remove gmail as my default email while forwarding news from any newspaper?

Here is the situation: if I am reading an article in the NY Times our other newspaper, and try to forward this article choosing the email icon (instead of Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp icons) it automatically opens my gmail, as I committed a mistake to set up it as the default email. Question: How to undo it so it will ask me what the email to forward the message is? Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps​, select Gmail, and Clear Defaults.
