Yes, I enjoy GB but want the ability to stream WiFi, I have flashed ROM's on many Windows Phones and my previous NS4G but the Optimus S seems much more involved. Would it be better to chat via google or another way to not clog up the boards? Thanks

After the "download" stage, which is really just uncompressing the files it will do the update. At around 98% the phone should reboot. Then the android screen should appear. Do not disconnect the usb cable until you see "update complete" in the status window on the lg update tool.

I was keeping it on the boards that way if others see it and can help they will know where you at. Plus it is almost 11pm here, so I will be going to bed shortly. To be honest I would avoid GB as many people (myself included) have had issues with it, which is why Sprint has suspended the GB update. For the time being I would just flash to whatever version you are flashing to with the K500 tool and then root it using z4root or gingerbreak.

Alright LG S/W Update says has been complete phone still plugged in, and is asking for an email address for future updates, no option in cmd to press Q to exit and phone is off while still plugged in

Nevermind, I went back and saw you were able to boot into Android but were getting FCs.

What you want to do is
Factory reset from stock recovery

Do you see errors in the log or does it look complete.

When you say the phone is off while still plugged in, that seems out of the ordinary. It should have rebooted. Are you sure it isn't "on" but you don't have anything show on your screen?

Did you revert to V9 or VD and do you know if you have the new LCD?

Tried reverting to V9 from ZVH, realized i had a new LCD, used this method to get up to ZVD but it hangs at the Sprint logo... adb shell returns an error "exec 'system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2)"

The error about /system/bin/sh is normal. Don't worry about that.

Try this:
Factory reset from within Stock Recovery

I did notice on your other post it seems like you started doing a lot of stuff and possibly could have made things worse. I'm not sure what state you are in right now. You did ZV9, then ZVD, then ZVC, then ZVH.

My suggestion is when you encounter a problem you don't know how to deal with, ask questions before you proceed, to avoid making things worse.

In your situation, as long as you can get to the Android logo, a simple reset should resolve:
Factory reset from within Stock Recovery

Seems that for some reason this was inaccessible via Cablevision's DNS servers, I had been trying for 2 days, 3 different computers, no luck.

Changed DNS to google's (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) and access was granted.

No. You can try emulator, but it may be some work to get everything working. If you just need to revert to VD, then you can use the ZVD update.zip in my signature. That doesn't require the mobile update tool.
