After you unroot, is there a way that the people at either Sammy or ATT will know whether or not you've rooted your phone?

Hello All:
I am definitely new so I apologize if I am doing something stupid but not having much luck at rooting my infuse. Here is what I am getting when I start GingerBreak:

[**] Gingerbreak/Honeybomb -- android 2.[2,3], 3.0 softbreak
[**] (C) 2010-2011 The Android Exploid Crew. All rights reserved.
[**] Kudos to jenzi, the #brownpants-party, the Open Source folks,
[**] Zynamics for ARM skills and Onkel Budi

[**] donate to 7-4-3-C@web.de if you like
[**] Exploit may take a while!

[+] Detected Froyo!
[+] Found system: 0xafd1452d strcmp: 0xafd1d7ed
[+] Found PT_DYNAMIC of size 264 (33 entries)
[+] Found GOT: 0x000162e8
[+] Using device /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.0/mmc_host/mmc0
[*] vold: 2500 GOT start: 0x000162e8 GOT end: 0x00016328

I have tried three times and gotten to the same point and wait five minutes but nothing happens after the above.
I am using a MAC and following the directions in POST 5 but no luck.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

Question: After Rooting, should I exit debugging mode or leave it on?

I am having exactly the same problem. Is it likely to work better if I try using a windows computer? Or have AT&T made it more difficult, and if so does anyone know what needs to be done to get root access? I was under the impression when I got the phone that gaining root access was more or less trivial (it should be), so it's a bit disappointing that it doesn't seem to be straightforward. Thanks for all the help though.

Sorry for double-posting but nothing is working. I tried Gingersnap but it kept getting stuck on "Stealing the ginger's soul.." and when I unplugged it to do a battery pull, it still said "USB Connected" on my phone. I pulled the battery and rebooted, then tried Gingerbreak and I got this:

Code:
[**] Gingerbreak/Honeybomb -- android 2.[2,3], 3.0 softbreak

I can't seem to get this to work. I'm using option 4... I don't get "[!] dance forever my only one"

Here's the screenshot.

I am stuck with exactly the same issue. I tried the SuperOneclick method too with no luck .

Has ATT updated the firmware so that these rooting tricks do not work anymore?
