[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

Having troubles with the install with the sendmsg fails, gonna try to pull the sd card out to see if I can get it to not fail.

Got it to work, just needed to be patient. Rooted on the second attempt.! Thanks a bunch!

Pull the battery out and reboot phone (put battery back in) before rebooting. Try rooting again from the beginning...:)

I'm going to try this on my son's phone.

I'm sure the answers are within one of these posts, I haven't found it, but two questions:
1. Will root allow hotspot capability without using Sprint's hotspot service?
2. Will Netflix still run with the root?

Flashing recovery probs. Help Please.

I have LG Optimus S LS670ZVD and have root with su installed. I can't get recovery to flash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also If anyone know's what the stock recovery is named would be great.

xionia_cwma_12518.6 I have followed all the steps to install with adb shell with su to get #. When I do these steps it acts like it works but doesn't actually flash the recovery. Also, the command that is supposed to move stock recovery doesn't work because my stock recovery doesn't match the command....in fact when I look through file manager on phone I can't even find a recovery file. Please guide me if you can. Thanks

I saw this but not sure if it's still the only way.

Part 2: If you installed LS670ZVD and didn't have a custom recovery kernel

1) Downgrade to LS670ZV9 (not ZVC) as per this thread. Do NOT ask questions about reverting, force-flashing or KP500 in this thread.
2) Root V9 with z4root. Do NOT ask questions about z4root in this thread.
3) Flash either Xionia Clockwork Recovery or drellisdee's Custom Recovery. Do NOT ask questions about recovery kernel installation in this thread.
4) Using the LG Mobile Support Tool, update to LS670ZVD. Do NOT ask questions about the LG tool in this thread.
5) If you flashed Xionia Clockwork Recovery, continue to Part 3 or Part 5.
6) If you flashed drellisdee's Custom Recovery, continue to Part 4 or Part 6.

Is this the only way that I can flash recovery?

I wish it was more cut and dry

Are you sure you are looking at the correct guide?

Hello all, hoping for some quick help, currently running Scott Pilgrims CM7, on the ZV9, Last month I forgot to update to VD baseband with updater tool post Xionia CWM recovery install, also forgot to Nandroid my original stock ROM, never the less. I seem to be at a cross road,

Today I tried to run the updater but it continually crashed on my PC , I even switched to another, same result, so I reflashed the zv9 update via the older guide using the kp500 diag mode etc etc, it completely finished the install, however it will not boot.

I tried to run the updater again to get the VD baseband and it will get as far as on the phone saying its updating and to not disconnect the cable, even though the program crashed on my PC.

Advice please, I want VD baseband and would like to install Reborn ROM.

Thanks
