ok im stuck these were my steps i have usb debugging on and unknownsource app install on also i turn on usb storage when i plug it into the computer after i plug it into the computer it does the installing drivers thing which i downloaded from lg but when i start using the command prompt i change it to extracted folder file(step 2) then type adb shell and it says "error: closed"

Make sure you turn off usb storage Try again......

Question about the nandroid backup. I followed everything you said, and installed the Xionia CWMA recovery kernel.

I don't see an entry on the recovery console for 'backup and restore'
Just the following:
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

What am I missing?

Reflash the Xionia recovery. Make absolutely certain that you rename install-recovery.sh as stated in the Xionia flashing instructions.

Thats the stock recovery....You need to try pushing the Xionia Recovery kernal again make sure you have a # in the abd shell and not $ or it wont work....

That Drewalton can help you with not sure how to get # without rerooting through cmd command on the P.C....or you can download a terminal emulator off the market and do it that way if your rooted itll already have the #.

To access a root shell, execute the "su" command (without quotes) in an ADB shell.

Also, don't actually type the "#" or "$" symbols. Those are simply there to denote that the command specified should be run in a root shell.

One last thing always make a nandroid back prior to flashing a new rom or something unsure of. You thank me again later....
