Android Central Question

Under Device Administrators on S7, I can uncheck them and even choose to Deactivate, but they're right back again.

Is it some sneaky underhanded way to keep track of your Location at all times, even when you have location turned Off?

How do you permanently stop Device Administrator from constantly reactivating itself?

Welcome to Android Central! Is this the Galaxy S7 phone, or the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet?

Which Device Administrator app are you referring to? The only Device Admin app I have on my Galaxy A32 5G is Find My Device (which is from Google). If you have anything else, either you installed an app that acts as a Device Admin, or your device was or is being administered by some other authority (like a workplace or school). Do you use it for work? Or did you buy this phone used?

I have several, but most are turned off, and they stay off. The only one that is on is the email app I use, and only because I have my work exchange email account on it. That needs access so they can remove the account remotely if they decide to terminate employment.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your location can be tracked whether you turn location off or not. Your browser can pinpoint your exact location regardless. I read that a couple years ago and turned my location off to test it. Sure enough my location and weather is exactly as accurate as when my location was on.

I believe the only thing affected when turning off location is the maps navigation. Otherwise they always know where you are unless you shut your device off ;)
