HOW TO : UPDATE to 4.3 from STOCK 4.2.2 ( STOCK recovery, Locked/Unlocked Bootloader)

Updated to 4.3
As said above, problems with Play. Resetting google account fixed that.

Could you tell me what you mean by resetting your google account? Password? or some other thing. I have the same problem with play store after the update.

I feel like the biggest ***** on the planet! It did not work for me because I renamed the update file in the folder mini-sdk and also did it in CMD. So i tried keeping the original name in the folder and used the new name in CMD, and what do you know? IT WORKS :D

So far so good!
Update has finished..Apps are being currently optimized...I might perform a factory reset in a day or two since I like to start off clean..My phone is currently rooted and I am hoping the Voodo OTA root keeper retains the root privs!

oops!..deleted all the apps with device admin privs..but forgot to delete one of the system apps...hoping it does not cause any issues later :-(

did as mentioned in OP.
I enter adb sideload update.zip and after few seconds i get following on my phone

Installing update
Warning: No file_contextsassert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop","ro.build.fingerprint") =="google/occam/mako:4.2.2/JDQ39/573038:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop". "ro.build.fingerprint") = = "google/occam/mako:4.3/JWR66V/737497:user/release-keys"
Installation aborted

anyone has any idea about this?
My device is complete stock

PHEW! Done. Thanks a TON!

Smooth Update. Everything working as expected

A few minor quirks and info for Newbies like me

1) Restart in Fastboot mode means the following
a) Powerdown your Nexus 4
b) While keeping the Volume Down pressed, press Power button
c) Then press volume button down twice to circle through the options. You get to "Recovery Mode". Press Power button again.
d) If you see the ! symbol in red color. Press Volume Up, phone will list options. Use Volume Up / Down keys to choose "apply update from ADB".

2) I am using Windows 7 64 Bit OS. So when I ran the command adb sideload update.zip, i got the error "device not found". After a bit of google search i realized that Install Nexus 4 drivers means installing this file . UniversalAdbDriverSetup.msi https://plus.google.com/103583939320326217147/posts/BQ5iYJEaaEH

If you can't get the Recovery Mode menu... When you are in the Recovery Mode with "No Command" in the middle with the open Android, just press and hold the power button and press the up volume button. ( Google Nexus 4 Recovery Mode )

Thanks. I'm such a newbie to the Android system (I'm a BlackBerry convert) that I didn't know my way around the recovery mode menu.

Everything seems to be upgrading smoothly. Now here comes all the app updates LOL.

Me too.. But I was pretty sure that would happen

power completely off, you held down the DOWN volume button, then press the power button, keeping both held down until you see the menu?

OK finally managed to sideload the update! My problem was entering the text in command prompt correctly and having debug on.

Thanks!!!

For those of us with a custom recovery, can we just flash the stock recovery from the official Google image of 4.2.2?

If so, would it just be as simple as fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and then sideloading the update?
