[How-To] Update to DI18 manually

I was going to wait this time for the update to get pushed to my phone; but, then, no. I couldn't, lol.

Wow. I thought the internet was pretty fast in the first place. Coming from a blackberry it blew it away. This is amazing. Now I'm testing the wifi sleep issue. Hope it works.

I noticed they didn't fix the lack of a key tone on swype keyboard from last update losing it. :-/

The lag when sending large email attachments is gone too. SWEET!

Does anyone know the email address to send samsung a technical issue. I want to let them know about the key tone.

For some reason, my update didn't work. Perhaps it was because I deleted some bloatware. Either way, I reinstalled the bloatware and tried this method, and it still will not run the updater. I'm stuck on DI07. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

every stock file needs to be in place. you can be rooted, but you must be stockish. before installing, everything needs to be up to snuff.

By the way, "press power" should be "hold down power". When you are attempting to get to the manual update screen, you have to hold down all three buttons until it comes up. If you don't, it will power on normally.

Every stock file is back in place. When I deleted the bloatware, I had it backed up and have since restored it. My phone, aside from being rooted, is as stock as the day I bought it. I guess I'll keep trying. I hate to, but I guess the next step would be to reset everything and start over.

A big applause and THANK YOU to Andrew for sharing!! I couldn't wait any longer for my update so I manually did it and working well so far.

Ever since I updated there's apps missing from the market. I heard it's something on google's end and I just have to wait. Hopefully, it won't take too long and I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G :)

Just a quick update on my update. I got to thinking that every time I tried to update last night using the volume down + camera + power, I had my phone plugged into the wall charger. I just tried it unplugged and it worked on the first attempt. I'm not sure if that's what caused it to not work, but I am updated and upload cap free! (1102kbps down/694kbps up)

You can root afterwards using the one-click method. I hadn't rooted my phone until last night after the update.

Tried doing this and when I do it say e:signature verification failed or something like that.

I have read the forum and everything in here Ive tried but still not working. Only thing left would be to reset my device and its not worth it to me, this sucks though.

Have you removed any stock software?

I have files like isyncr and some others from apps Ive downloaded, does that matter?

Isyncr.exe is an executable file in the root directory, you think that might be causing the issue?
