I know what my problem was now, I was trying to email the file to me because im at work and the recieved file i was getting was wayyy smaller than the 4.6mb zip file i was sending. I'll just wait till i get home so i can just use the usb

Edit: Downloaded file directly on my phone (duh) and updated just fine this time. Now to re install most of my apps lol

BTW does this do anything else besides 3g upload speeds?

not really, tws is still an issue as well as DRM battery drain. Take care of those things after every reboot and you're all set.

Seems like since I did this manual update, I can't download from the market.

NEVERMIND...it started working again.

OK, I have the file :) and I'm sharing!!!!

1. First, grab this file and place it in the root of your SD card.
2. make sure its named update.zip and nothing else. if its named something else like update1.zip, change it to update.zip
3. turn phone off
4. Hold down camera, volume down and press power.
5. Use volume down to select SDCard: update.zip
6. Press Home on the capacitive buttons to select.
7. Phone should automatically install and reboot.

Upload cap is definitely fixed. You MUST have DI07 installed for this to work.

Worked like a charm!!! Never received my OTA update over the weekend, even after NUMEROUS attempts to update the firmware, I used this method. PERFECT!!! Thank you once again for your assistance.

PS: If you access the website from your phone, you can download the file directly onto your phone and find it in the download folder. I know a few people reported having problems doing this, just a word to the wise, read twice, do once...:)

Also worth noting that once you locate the file in the downloads folder of your SD card..

It will show the filename "update.zip" with white page icon not a folder icon..

long press on the file and select move.

then go to your Home directory of your SD card
/sdcard/ and move the file there.

it should be in the /sdcard/update.zip

Follow Andrew's instructions and Viola..S D700 ECLAIR.DI18

Oh yeah. I deleted a lot more. How do I reflash? I think I tried that and it basically deleted everything I did and set it back to stock minus the apps I removed.

Does anyone have a copy of the original amazon mp3 file? After the last update, it's one of the files I deleted not realizing Sprint considered it necessary bloatware... I literally have everything else on the phone, but when I try to update and it does the system check, it sees Amazon missing... incredibly, I can download the file from marketplace no problem, but must be an updated version, because the update install still fails... Of course my titanium backup has everything else covered, but this one file is crossed out and does not appear to have been backed up before it was erased... I'd really like to avoid having to do a full factory install again to do this update... can somebody please help with advice on how to get amazon back to stock and installed? If I download Amazon Mp3 off the market, is there somewhere I need to move the program file to have the system thinks it is stock vs a download?
