How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

hey mike, quick question bout the cwm red? I have the red at the moment flashing different themes and roms and such, but was looking at the link to xda's site on getting the red again. My question basically is do you know the differences with just the cwm-all and the cwm-all-odin? cause in explanation, you say to flash cwm with odin...and i'm not sure on that step. cause I would just do the modem and tar files in odin...or are they the same? if that makes any sense?

ok. you may have flashed a rom that has cwm already, and thats ok. when i wrote this thread that was not an option. if you already have the new red cwm then you dont need to flash it again.

mike: cool. wasn't sure if i should just go ahead and drop it back down to stock or not. but may just wait to voodoo till a low voltage comes out :D

just followed your steps with super clean 2.6 voodoo

i installed 2.6, then the kernel in adryn's post, then enabled the lag fix, then installed a theme (honeycomb) and some packages, then rebooted, my phone's now sitting here going the theme's boot animation (light blue/purple honeycombs) over and over and vibrating once, followed by 3 quick vibrations. It's been approximately 15 minutes so i'm starting to get worried, should i have rebooted right after the ROM, and then again after the kernel, and then installed everything?

i guess i'll edit this if it all works out (i hope it will >.>)

almost 30 minutes now...

I'm always hesitant to flash too much stuff without a reboot in there. Usually I will, but not during the first installation of a rom. I let that boot up and then I'll combine steps after that. I know it may not help much, but at least this is a free bump for you. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon.

I have found that sometimes you need to let the rom boot the first time before you flash a theme. Just reflash the rom wipe data and cache a couple of times and you should be good.

its been over an hour, i'm now going to wipe everything, install the rom with voodoo lagfix, then reboot, then install the kernel, then reboot again, then install the theme, then everything else

btw, i did a hard reset to get it back to clockwork, it never ended

apparently it was already formatted to ext4, it just booted up normal every time, working great now, thanks for the help

what are your quadrent scores?

is there a way to tell if it worked or not? when i go to vodoo it looks like this:

Disable lagfix
enable lagfix (default)
/system lagfix on (default)
/system lagfix on
debug on
debug off (default)

When I select enable lagfix it says this:

Vodoo lagfix is actually: disabled
Next boot: disabled

Options:

/system lagfix conversion: no
debug mode: no

When I reboot it doesn't seem to reformat. What did i do wrong?

ok. used the xda cwm to flash the superclean vodoo from adrynelines thread, then hit enable lag fix. i do have the superdark theme installed. is ther any way to tell if vodoo worked?

Ok, it seems to have worked because I have absolutely no lag now. This is awesome. I would be interested to know if there is a way to confirm it is running voodoo though, in case I want to flash kernsls later. Thanks for your help mike.
