How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

Well that was just the coolest thing ever! Easy too. I was already on SC2.9.2nv so I just flashed JT's newest voodoo kernel and in less than 5 minutes I was back up and running. Confirmed with the mount command that I have been converted! Now I need to grab Voodoo Control so I can enjoy my phone as a music player.

Thanks for the guide!

Ya isn't it easy? Just make sure now you only flash voodoo kernels/roms. The voodoo lady makes you warm all over :p

i need to update the op. there are acutally several vooodoo kernels now. check out jaekar's thread for links to all kernels. the one on the super clean thread is not source built.

There are at least three voodoo kernels from the EC10 source that are performing very well.. I think that the voodoo kernels are far more stable than the current nonvoodoo builds.

The developers and helpers around here seem to make everything easy! Being a lady myself I would have felt more warmness from a voodoo manly man but I got all wrapped up in the coolness of the voice and didn't pay much attention to my body temperature. :D

No! I really should come up with a different name but I have been using this for years in various forums and really don't want to have to remember a new one. I will just have to throw some spite her way for becoming such a household name. She probably uses a stock cell phone too. :-!

:D

Ahh ok cool...if you were, I could just see the front page of AC

SARAH PALIN VISITS OUR FASCINATE FORUM and has a rooted/voodoo phone!!

haha

Voodoo Sound Improvements

So I updated to SC2.9.2 with voodoo this afternoon.
Worked great got it all installed, heard the android voice (who gave me updates through the whole process...great!)
Checked on quadrant to make sure I was running voodoo and got a score of 1391 -- Fascinating.

But what I really want to work is the sound improvements.
Voodoo control says Ext4 lagfix is active, but under voodoo sound improvements it says sorry this phone doesn't run a kernel supporting extended sound controls...

I was reading through these posts trying to find a solution, but couldnt determine if the few I found had the same explicit issue.

Is this just the case where I would need to reflash the voodoo kernel or is there another way to obtain these features?

Thanks

You need to flash one of the EC10 voodoo kernels, the one included in the ROM isn't source built so it doesn't support extended sound controls

after these kernels being for a bit now, has any of them shown better battery life?

I would say all of the undervolted ones will extend your batt life.
I am using imnuts 50uv and do indeed notice better battery life. Tried the 100uv but it locked up my phone. ymmv
However, after installing setcpu couple days ago and set scaling to conservative and setting a profile for when screen is off, there is definitely quite a big improvement for me.

I'm still learning to use the app...but in the profiles tab, click add profile and there are several scenarios to choose ie screen off, charging ac, charging usb etc.
In the screen off profile, I have mine set to 800 max 100 min. When leaving tick on "enable". Also in main screen tick "Set on Boot"

Thats what I got mine set at and so far pretty noticable difference

yups...there are a few other undervolted kernels too.
I wasn't endorsing imnuts kernels...jus saying what I be using.
Folks are having good luck using other uv one like comavolt etc
If you haven't already, have a look at Jaekars thread.
He has a full listing of everything available

yesterday i did the process of the 4/1/11 Odin EB01 and Odin cwm SC2.92nv and have the EC10 ComaVoltnv kernel so to make the move to voodoo from the way my brains telling me after reading a bit now is as simple as dl my VooDoo kernel of choice probably stay with the ComaVolt reboot to recovery clear cache and dalvik flash the voodoo ComaVolt and go down to voodoo and enable lagfix and then im voodoo ? Any info be it yea or na would b great thanks to all ur genius minds out there

EDIT-As i reread this would i also need to grab the Voodoo EB01 ROM from the 4/1/11 post and flash that as well ?
