How will Froyo's WiFi hotspot play with Verizon's $20 plan?

We know that this feature is coming with the 2.2 update (let's hope Verizon does not block it). Verizon charges $20 to use this feature now. Will this work kinda like VZ navigator and google maps where one is free and the other isn't but it's up to the user which one they want to use.
Any one know?

I'm guessing Verizon will force them to disable that feature. If not, they will probably force you to sign up to use it like they currently do with the Verizon hotspot feature.

It's been confirmed by the guys on the podcast that it has been disabled in froyo by Verizon...at least on the froyo builds on the Droid. Maybe the Droid X will be different.

I'm betting that it will be locked up for sure by Verizon. Of course there's always root. I just hope root would allow you to use the original Froyo coded wifi-hotspot and not have to download some app to do what the phone has software already installed to do.

I probably wouldn't even use it myself, but the thought of it is annoying.
