Hey guys,

Just wondering how the leaked FROYO update from today, friday, is working out. I d/l'ed it but i am chicken shizz to try it since i have read some people not being able to get to work. Just wondering hows it going and what was the file name.

UPDATE:

Here are some stuff that people are reporting:

- Faster performance
- No problems
- 30fps is still there
- Battery life is little less or the same
- Some Flash Issues do not really know if this is because the phones were/are rooted?
- Warm device
- 720p playback choppy

**These issues are on some users not all. Its Saturday night 728pm here in OC Cal. and im still thinking about doing it. HAHA My buddy keeps texting me "did you do it yet....stop acting like a little bee atch" I really do not know whats wrong with me i did the first kernel patch on my Pre with no hesitation. Errr MAN UP JOHN!!

Working great for me. I lost wireless tethering since i didnt flash the rooted rom, but PDA Net is working Great. Loving the new Messaging widget. And the "Flash light" app is amazing, I was using the "LED LIGHT" widget before and it would only let me use the lowest setting, never knew the damn LEDs were so bright.

This is a good post. I've been searching threads unsuccessfully to find this out. Let's have it...

Quick test for those who jumped the gun. Can you tell me if the amount of available memory is more or less(fresh reboot) than 2.1

Memory is about the same. But I noticed my internal storage went from 27% to i believe 34%. After I dropped all the apps that could be dropped to the SD it jumped to 52%. AWESOMENESS at its best.

Works great for me. Not too excited about there sense and the fps is still locked at thirty. Thought that the rooted version would break it. But overall its quick and does what it says. Hd video is on with led support for dark rooms.

My son, two friends, and I all updated our Evo's to 2.2 tonight (we had a little Froyo Party) and all of our phones increased speed in almost every way from loading screens to running apps. Even installing apps seems faster.

None of us had any problems; we've had it now for around four hours, and all four phones are acting like champs. It's nice to finally have it.

works A OK for me...Does seem zippier as many people have stated. One thing im wondering about.. 97% of the apps that I have, do not support the move to SD.. I wonder if that will change soon.

Battery life seems worse on mine. Half an hour and I'm at 87%. I used it for 15 minutes checking in on the forums. God I hope it gets better.

Having problems with Flash, and any site that has flash content seems to close the browser.

Were you running a leaked version of flash 10.1 before you updated?

If so others have got it working by doing a hard reset (loses all your data).

or.

Try installing the adobe 10.1 flash beta for Froyo from the market, (make sure browsers are closed first), this has fixed it for several others also.

Mine is working great. flash and all. It's a little slow, but flash is still in beta, so it can only be improved from here on out with future updates.

No issues with other parts of my phone either. Lov eit.

I remember that last update that bricked a few phones caused the boot up time to get longer with the phone sitting on the 4G screen for quite a while, did that speed up at all?

How about when you click on "Manage Applications" within settings, that always took a while too on the Evo but seems to be pretty much instant on the Incredible, is that improved at all?

I was running the leaked version of Flash 10.1 before i updated.
I think i'll wait for "final" version to be released on the 3rd, I'll update then and see if it helps, if not.. Then i guess i'll do a hard reset.

I was unable to find flash beta in the market. I had installed it using the apk through astro. When i go to it now it gives me an option to uninstall or launch, Both dont work.

Sorry just looked, name is adobe flash showcase in the market now.

Things ive noticed....
1. is for one i cant do the network battery saver trick anymore. When i go into the network app and then go to select radio band it force closes and kicks me out and doesnt let me change it. Not too sure if this was by design or what.
2. during a call...i get the notification sound from a text message in my ear...usually during a call the notification is silenced and it just shows up in the notification bar. Kind of annoying nothing to cry about....i just put my phone on silent during a call.
3. The battery life seemed to get a little bit worse. I'll have to do some test and use the phone a little bit more to actually make a solid statement on wether the battery life is better or worse. But just from using it a minute ago seemed like it was a little worse. Dont quote me on that tho....like i said before ill have to actually test it in everyday usage.
