How's your battery life?

Good stuff Gots2beme. I skipped the Current Widget part (since I already know there's a major drain) and went right to Spare Parts. With that I determined that Weather Bug was using even more juice than the Android system, so I'm scrapping that. I'll see how my usage is today and report back. Also might need to slam the Weather Bug on market.

I'm used to the Blackberry Bold so I'm a bit disappointed. However, if it can get me through a full day of messing around, I'll take it for now.

Battery life isn't as bad as I thought. My wife had my phone with her for about 3 hours last night with heavy browsing, and it was at 50% when she started. it got down to 18% when I got it back. its strong imo.

Nope, even without WeatherBug it doesn't last. I'll have to keep messing with it until I decide to give up and live with it.

Spare Parts shows that the damn YP bloatware app is running constantly when the phone is asleep (display off). I killed the running process and now my battery life is much better, especially at work where this is very little signal and the YP app was constantly polling for a signal when the phone was supposed to be asleep.

Now just need to find a way to kill this app for good, as it will restart itself next time I reboot the phone.

My battery lasts me for an entire day without recharging - Normally take it off the wall charger around 5:30am and put it back on around 10:30/11pm. Light to medium user which includes texting, email, FB, bluetooth, and wifi at home but not at work where my signal is always on Edge.
No complaints from me as the lowest I've hit is 20% battery left

Still having battery issues. It is definitely the screen using the majority, as every maintenance app is indicating. I guess if I just leave it in the holster it will be fine:(

Have you rooted your device? Rooting and installing a custom ROM will improve battery life.

I can go 12 hours and only use 30-40% this is with SetCPU throttling the processor when not in use, and juicedefender keeping mobile data under control...

I have not been happy at all with my battery drainage. I have not had much time to investigate and hopefully remedy.

Take today-- I charged the battery to 100%. Checked a couple of things and downloaded CurrentWidget-- now at 97%. I activated a streaming music app and plugged in my earbuds. An hour and 45 mins later it warns me battery is down to 15%. I have done nothing else but listen to streaming music. When I checked Battery Usage, Display usage was at 60%, the music app was at 4% and everything else was single digit percentages. The screen was never "on", so what comprises display battery usage? I saw gots2beme's great post and I did download CurrentWidget but was not terrible impressed with the info on Spare Parts. I was looking at SystemPanel instead. Anyone use that app?

Anyway, in Display settings:
I do have Auto-rotate screen checked. (I read a lot)
I have had "All animations" check but have now checked "some".
For Brightness I have tried "auto" and have tried 40% but noticed no discernable difference.
Screen timeout is 30 secs.
Notification flash is for email and voicemail only but I rarely miss a call and today had nothing happen while listening to streaming music for all of 105 minutes.

So, what sucks juice in "Display Settings"???

Thanks, this is a great community!!

im quite interested in seeing ways to fix battery drainage. im new to android so please bare sith me... whats rooting? im tech savy enough to be able to figure things out, and would love to increase my battery usage. ill try things on that list a few pages back. hope i can get more usage out of the battery.

That is a good question, and I wish I could find someone that has the answer. I've seen most people say "just root it!". That's fine if you want to void your warranty. I'd like to make sure this phone's going to last before I strip myself of the ability to return it. There has got to be some kind of explaination why the display supposedly gulps so much battery. I say supposedly because I'm not positive these readings are true.

oh so "rooting" is like "jailbreaking" the IPhone? maybe i dont want to do that. i never jailbroke my iphone. so now i gotta go through currentwidget and whatnot. a lot i need to learn about this phone. but i cant complain, ive only had it 2 days.

Something is wrong with your phone. I have a 40 minute drive into work, and I listen to pandora the whole time with the screen on and it drains maybe 10%. you either have a defective phone/battery or some nasty background process draining the phone. I have noticed that when I am not using the phone, the YP app and pandora drain a lot of juice. I manually kill YP when I see it running, and close pandora when I am done with it (you have to actually quit the app, just going back to your home screen just backgrounds the app and causing it to suck juice.)

I use spare parts to monitor what it sucking juice. Checking partial wake usage is a good indication of rogue processes that are draining battery in the background. Also I run Juice Defender when is a wonderful app that disables stuff as needed to conserve juice, without impeding the phone's functionality.

still on the stock battery here and rooted,on Android Revolution 4G 3.1 . i don't get 3g (in the sticks)so i put it on 2g and 34 hours and still at 50%. i know not being on 3g helps. wifi is on all the time.

I've only had mine for a little over 24 hours, and already feel pretty comfortable with the settings, and how to get things done. Although I did jailbreak my iPhones, I probably won't need to Root my Inspire as it has just about everything that I need just the way it is.

My battery life is horrific. I've switched to the Inspire from an Iphone. I've never had an Android phone. While I love it, the battery life is just horrible enough where I'm thinking of doing the 30 day exchange, which makes me sad. Is there something wrong with my phone? I'm seriously getting 5-6 hours of it not even being used before it goes dead. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

So far I am impressed with the battery life on mine. I got 12 hours out of the first charge with heavy usage, 16 1/2 hours the second charge with moderate usage and so far I'm at 17 hours today on the third charge. I think these times are great for as much power as this device delivers.

i also use a task killer app. i unplugged my phone at 9am today and came back at 7pm with 30% left with moderate use.
brightness was actually 100%.
