How's your wifi connection on Note 3?

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I had problems and thought it was just my phone, and was on the verge of taking it back. However, seeing that a lot of owners had problems with WiFi calling. I turned Wifi off. I got unlimited with Tmobile. Most likely there will be software fix..I am good to go without Wifi callling. If I want to surf with Wifi, I can turn it on if I want too..

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I just had ordered two cases for the note 3 from amazon and decided to return them and not get the Note 3. Like you I have read too many issues with this phone, and as nice as it is, I'm just going to get A Note 2. On best buy's website and even on Verizon's own website the Note 2 gets a better overall user review. For the price they are asking for it, not acceptable I know not everyone is having issues with theirs, but I'm paying full price for a phone, so not willing to take the chance on it. I'll wait to see if and when this phone ever gets fixed, and then use my upgrade for it.

Now you got two cases to donate!! :D :D

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I bought the Note 3 (T-Mobile) on Saturday (26th). I came from an iPhone 4S on ATT before that (and iPhone 4, before that, and 3G....). Anyway, I was so focused on the sheer size of this beast for the first couple of days that I wasn't aware there was a wifi issue until it wouldn't connect to my work network on Monday (28th). I kept getting the 'unstable connection' and 'wifi disconnected' messages. The only hint of a problem was that I had turned on the wifi calling feature when I first got the phone, and one friend of mine was telling me I sounded garbled, like I was screeching. I called T-Mobile and they told me to return the phone for a new model, which I did yesterday (30th). As soon as I set it up at home, I saw the wifi calling box, and the blue wifi calling icon in the task bar on top, which I didn't see with the first phone. I've had zero complaints about call quality, and I noticed Viber went from dropping after a few seconds to sounding like I was on a regular landline when talking to my friends in South America. Huge difference.
It's not all good news, however. When I went to work today and tried connecting to my work wifi, I got the same messages as the first phone, and it won't connect...even though it says the signal is 'very strong'. Now that I'm home again, I get wifi and wifi calling-no problem. I'm confused? Being that it's getting great reception at home, but not on another network, I'm thinking there's a bug in the software...at least I hope there is.
Regardless, I bought 2GB of data with TMobile this month. I'm hoping they come out with a patch soon, or I'll just pay an extra $10 for unlimited 4G. Having had iPhones since late 2008, this phone has completely blown me away. Don't get me wrong...I don't hate iPhones. I think they're great phones. For me, however, this makes iPhones look like a kids toy. I've gotten used to the size, and will get used to being more careful with it in my pocket, as I think it could be easy to break if you're not careful with your legs bumping into things (like a table, for example).
The Note 3 is like a tablet in my pocket, it's gorgeous, and i'm not giving mine back!
Please, Samsung, fix this wifi issue, and it will be the perfect phone.

I was reading your informative post, and I got a little scared there for a minute when you said you returned your and the problem when away. I was thinking about returning mine, but others were having the same problem. So, that told me it wasn't just my phone, it was and almost global issue. Then when you said you have some of the same problems with the 2nd phone. What I think is happening, is Samsung is slowing fixing the glitch. I am almost sure it is not the phone..I can connect Wifi, but Wifi calling, people say I sound garbled. I turned it off, and I am fine..

On the Tmobile plan, I have unlimited, talk and data, the only time I would need to purchased 2.5gb more, is when I RUN OVER allowing other devices use the free hotspot that comes with Tmobile.

No problems with mine so far.

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I wanted to get this phone, but as far as I can see reading all the post just on AC that this phone is full of issues.... sad.

I suspect this will be true no matter what brand new phone you look at, regardless of the carrier it's on. These things are not perfect. While I'm sure they test them as best they can, they can't test every single possible combination that will live in the real world -- people install all sorts of apps, not always from official stores, and certain combinations of apps might cause problems while other combinations won't. If there's a problem with the device that's widespread, there's a good chance that the manufacturer and/or carrier will develop a fix. The problems people are experiencing are not uniform either -- some people have the WiFi issue, others don't. Some had garbled voice calls, some didn't (on Sprint at least, and they patched that already). Just because you see a lot of problems being discussed does not mean that every user of the device has every single problem. If you wait for the perfect device, with no problems at all, I'm afraid you'll be waiting forever.

My WiFi at home is still a little flaky. It continues to drop and immediately reconnect for no reason, despite the router being in the hall outside my room (close, with a strong signal). I've mentioned it to Sprint on Twitter before, and I think they said that others have reported this issue as well, and they are going to try to look into it, but they don't know if it's a confirmed problem with the device. I think my response to that was if a bunch of people have this issue, it sounds like it's the device and not my WiFi, so I hope they do come up with a fix.

Comparing my note 3 with my nexus 10, the 10 has a better connection, hands down, and the 10 is not an example of a great wifi device. I think there is something with this phone, it gets weak speeds, specially down. In my case, it consistently gets better up speeds than down, comparably. It's strange, I hope a fix is eventually released, because, while usable, the problem makes for a very annoying weakness.

My story....

I bought a Note 3 about 4 days ago. I rooted it as soon as I got home. Soon I notice that I was getting pinged constantly with ?unstable internet connection notifications.? I searched the internet and quickly began to get a feeling of dread that I had purchased a bad phone. However, I recalled not receiving the notifications immediately after I had rooted it so I had assumed that it was something I did post root. When I got home from work yesterday I reinstalled the CFW and to my satisfaction the problem disappeared. I then began to reinstall all the old apps one by one to see if any of them would trigger the effect. Guess what? It definitely worked. The app that was causing my problem was ADBLOCK PLUS!!!!! I am unsure if it affects unrooted phones the same way but for some reason as soon as I installed ADBLOCK PLUS with root access it started immediately triggering the unstable connection notifications. Unfortunately uninstalling ADBLOCK PLUS had no affect and I had to reinstall the CFW all over again to get my stable wifi back. For those of you that recall having a decent connection up to a certain point when you first got your phone and have ADBLOCK PLUS installed, I highly recommend reinstalling the firmware w/out ADBLOCK PLUS until they fix the problem. BTW, I have an AT&T Note 3. Good luck!

The web is 90% ads at this point so that is probably why you have an unstable connection. Its trying to block the entire WWW. :)

I also had wifi issues with mine. However I used one of the tips on here and disabled the callerid app on my Verizon note 3 and since then mine has been working great without issues.

The wifi is absolutely GARBAGE on the Note 3.

Can everyone who reports here please Also list their WIFI Router?

And Rom version?

Linksys E3200

See if we can find a pattern.

I don't have this problem at home or at work, only at a customer site where the mobile connection is weak. Wi-Fi is so-so. Once I disable mobile data, the problem goes away.
Thankfully, this doesn't happen often, but when it does I just disable the mobile data while connected to Wi-Fi.

Re: The ultimate Solution to Samsung Galaxy note 3 wifi dismal drop outs

WiFi on the Note 3 is far from garbage. Ookla Speed test reports 32mb down and 11mb up on my Note 3. My internet package is actually 30 down and 10 up. I have 6 (D-Link DAP 2553) WAPs in my home and I get full speed up and down on all of them with my Note 3.
