HTC 10 owners: are you tempted by the G6/S8?

No way! The only thing I'd leave for is a free Pixel XL and that's mostly to get updates from the manufacturer, not really in carriers.

I've had both Samsung and LG phones before. Samsung had to much bloat, backwards buttons, and not a fan of Touchwiz (too heavy of a skin). Plus, I don't trust Samsung phones after the incidents with the Note 7.

LG wasn't bad, but their recent phones seem to be getting to get to gimmicky.

It helps that the 10 is still a solid phone with no issues or need to "upgrade". Planning on waiting to see what the next Pixel and HTC offer.

The only think that could tempt me to the g6 would be incredible battery life. My 10 really struggles in that area. Samsung is a no go all the way.

I haven't minded the LG phones when I checked them out in the past, and may have even chosen one of them over a Samsung in whatever year. But I suspect next time around, unless the HTC featured phone is either sub-par or non-existent, I might give them all a serious look to see if anything can draw me. That's especially true for the Pixel if it shows improvements.

Since the S8 now uses software buttons it's possible to reverse them, so the "backward button" thing is solved. Though as I tend to use my phone in my right hand and find stretching over to the left for the back button awkward I'm not sure that the Samsung order isn't better for me.

And of course LG have ditched the gimmicks in the G6.

TBH I see no point in buying the G6 over the 10: almost same processor, same storage, same width, longer screen but lesser audio (unless you are in SE Asia) and less robust body. As someone for whom the 10 is a bit bigger than I'd prefer the S8 has at least the advantage of being narrower, as well as having more storage. But I do have less confidence in Samsung, and it's certainly less robust.

Nope. I'm in a LTR with my 10. I dont feel tempted at all by anything except its successor whenever that comes. And even then the only thing that will make me part with it, is if it has front facing speakers. I have to have them . I loved them on the M7 and M8.

Not even a little. Ill look into next big HTC device and maybe think about that, but nothing LG or Samsung have done so far has been close to making me switch from what HTC offers and what I prefer in my phones.

This doesnt mean those 2 make bad phones, just not phones for me personally. HTC delivers what I want.

Cool. So what do you look for?

Audio Quality is huge for me personally. UI is close second and to this day, Sense still beats everyone else. Yes touchwiz is looking better and not being such a heavy UI, but Sense just feels so smooth and looks clean. Granted its a very light skin in looks now and has heavy look of vanilla. But its still just different enough that it is its own look. Screen quality is up there, but it isnt make or break by any means. Give me a good screen that doesnt look over saturated/unrealistic colors and Im good.

When people always say to just put a different launcher on a Samsung or LG etc, I feel like that is a problem that you need to swap something as major as the launcher to get the phone to appeal to you more. Ive never once thought of replacing Sense in recent years as its really become a very lightweight and solid UI.

These are all my opinions of course, and Im sure theres plenty of people out there who enjoy Touchwiz now. But just not for me still.
